Eetcafe The Paddock
Eetcafe The Paddock, located right next to the fruit market and the harbor is the only genuine Dutch bar on Aruba. In Holland we call it an 'Eetcafe' meaning that you can enjoy different popular platters each day in a friendly atmosphere as you savor your favorite beverage.

We have been there four times. Service has consistently been good. We usually go on Wednesday night for all you can eat ribs for $10 US (a great deal in Aruba). Comes with fries, which we feel are the best on the island. Casual atmosphere. Great selection of beers. We like overlooking the harbor. Good group place. Enjoyable.

We where on Aruba in last october, and had dinner 3 times at the paddock. Friendly staff and good food for even a better price!!!! Everybody speaks excelent englisch. I looked at the website (www.paddock-aruba.com) and on the guestbookpage all the enteries are positive so I don't understand the last entery from the last visitor. Probably he didn't have his day!!! I can recomend this restaurant to anyone who is comming to Aruba. Prices are half of the hotel prices for instance: Heineken at the Hyatt $ 6 + service charge and at the Paddock $ 3 including service charge!!!! I will be comming back next year, that's for sure!!!!

The service was non-existent here! Not only slow, but the staff was confused. Only 4 tables for 3 wait-staff and they could not serve us or others timely. Part of the problem was a laguage barrier, no wait person on duty really understood english, and none of us cold speak Dutch, Papiamento, or Spanish. The food was just OK. The price was reasonable. The high note for me was that the served Jenever, dutch gin. We will not return here.
