Papillon Restaurant
Henri Charrière, one of the world's most famous prisoners, would surely have had the time of his life at Papillon Restaurant in The Village, across from the Radisson Resort. Nicknamed Papillon because of the butterfly tattoo on his chest, the Frenchman was the first convict to escape from Devil's Island, something that nobody had ever done before. Charrière's thrilling, gripping autobiography has been the concept behind Papillon Restaurant.
Papillon Restaurant's menu reflects the Frenchman's arduous journey to freedom: classic French dishes have been dusted with daring Caribbean flair and are a culinary journey for your taste buds. Papillon is open daily for dinner.

What an amazing find! We have been to Aruba 7 times and have eaten at just about every restaurant on the island by now. Papillon is by far our new favorite and has been hands down the best dining experience we have had. It is a rare blend of a classy and upscale restaurant experience with amazing food and service/presentation delivered in a very low-key and cozy atmosphere that is, amazingly enough, kid-friendly! The hostess Danielle was OUTSANDING and made us feel very welcome (even let our toddler son play with her bracelets!). The food and its presentation were superb and on par with what you would find in any outstanding restaurant in New York, LA or Vegas. The service was wonderful and the staff was very attentive to our needs and the needs of our son. The menu is very diverse and has classic French dishes like Boeuf Bourginon and also Carribbean standards with wonderful seafood. The Ceviche de Habana was amazing and the grouper was wonderful. I cannot say enough about the extremely high quality of the food, service, and dining experience overall and would recommend Papillon in a heartbeat.

We have been frequent visitors to Aruba for 15 years. We try to get there 3 to 4 times a year. Papillon is our absolute favorite restaurant in Aruba (and believe me, I've been to them ALL). During our recent visit 2 weeks ago, I was so glad to see that Danielle (Hostess, I think?) was back. I asked about her the last time we were there but she was not on the island at the time :(. She always recognizes us and makes us feel so comfortable... like family. The food is wonderful and the staff always makes it an enjoyable experience!

What a delightful find. Small intimate seating inside. The wine list was small, ordered a nice french red, which paired perfectly with what we ordered. Started the meal with the escargots that came in a delicious butter puff pastry, very rich in flavor, nice not to deal with the shells. The tuna trio was small but very fresh and tasty. We had the Chilean Sea Bass served in a crusted crock that made it moist and very flavorful. My filet mignon was one of the best ever, a true medium rare. They were a little skimpy on the vegetable and potato accompaniments. But overall it was a wonderful meal. Always nice to find a new place on the island.

It was a wonderful restaurant, the service was great and the food was unbelievable! It was the first restaurant we went to in Aruba, and we were blown away at how great everything was. We tried a few other (top rated)restaurants durring our stay, but nothing came close to how good Papillon's food was. I had the Filet Mignon, which was the best Filet I had ever had in my life! My wife had the Aji Shrimp which in her words "are to die for". She also had the Chevri salad which I helped her devour because it was unbelievably delicous! By the end of our meal we were to full for dessert but our excellent waiter recomended the expresso martini in place and we each tried one (unbelievable!) I am a very picky eater and this is the first review I have ever written on anything, mainly because I dont usually care, but this restaurant deserves to be in the top ten list in Aruba.

Well where do I start Papillon Restaurant is by far the best place in Aruba for fine French food.
When you arrive and are greeted by Tina you feel like family, then the good part happens.
Dinner is so special here that you must allow at least 1 1/2 to 2 HRS.
to enjoy this fine dining event.
My Tuna Trio was superb, my wife had
the Venison appetizer and just kept asking me to tase it, it was great.
Dinner for me was the Beef bourgignon
to die for, and the wife had the Hare
as is wild rabbit.
She is still talking about today.
If you have Great taste in food you must eat here.
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, We Can't wait to go back

Had dinner on Nov 6. Everything was delicious!! Would highly recommend Papillon to anyone looking for a wonderful meal. My only "complaint" was that they ran out of the Sea Bass. Had the grouper instead and it was outrageous.
