Papillon Restaurant
Henri Charrière, one of the world's most famous prisoners, would surely have had the time of his life at Papillon Restaurant in The Village, across from the Radisson Resort. Nicknamed Papillon because of the butterfly tattoo on his chest, the Frenchman was the first convict to escape from Devil's Island, something that nobody had ever done before. Charrière's thrilling, gripping autobiography has been the concept behind Papillon Restaurant.
Papillon Restaurant's menu reflects the Frenchman's arduous journey to freedom: classic French dishes have been dusted with daring Caribbean flair and are a culinary journey for your taste buds. Papillon is open daily for dinner.

The visit to Papillion was one of the highlights of our vacation. The manager, Tina, went above-and-beyond to make us feel welcome and the service was some of the best anywhere. Above all, the food was amazing starting with the special before dinner drink right up to the last bite of the dessert. Thanks to Tina and the rest of her staff for a truly memorable experience. We can't wait to come back next year! Steve and Donna Young - Overland Park, KS

After visiting some of the top restaurants on the Island, we highly recommend Papillion. It was the best! The food was exquisite, brought out on time, and the ambiance was superb. We enjoyed a wonderful tomato soup and ceviche for our appetizer followed by our delectable entrees- rack of lamb with tabouleh and sea bass with mushroom risotto. Our waiter Jhon was excellent and very friendly. It is located at the end of the restaurant strip by the hotels and it is a must-go-to while visiting Aruba!

Papillon was by far the best dining experience I have had on Aruba. The atmosphere is perfect, the service is outstanding and the food is to die for. My wife and I spent our twenty fifth anniversary on the island and we dined at Papillon twice. I would highly recommend Papillon to anyone who is visiting Aruba. Marcia was our waitress for both occasions and she was very friendly and attentive to detail. Also, the selection of French wines is superb. All around Papillon was an amazing dining experience.

This was one of the best, if not the best restaurant (food-wise) we went to during our 9 day stay in Aruba. It is located right across the Radisson which was perfect since we were staying there. My boyfriend and I are from NYC so we have had our fair share of great food. We started our vacation off with a dinner at the Sunset Grille in the Radisson- it was not worth the money and the lobster bisque was horrible. It was therefore a pleasant surprise to dine at Papillon. The service was top-notch! Our waiter (John or Juan I believe) was very attentive and frank. He even ran around to other establishments to find out informations/specials that were going on the following nights for us. Also, the restaurant offers an awesome early bird special that will leave you stuffed. The fish dishes here are amazing! I wish I was still there to eat the grouper again. Please try this place out! We went to Old man and the Sea, Flying Fishbone and while they are great ambiences which you should try, this restaurant should not be looked over!

Between all American food chains there is a oasis of rest and fine cuisine. With a glorious ambiance and a well trained, genuine friendly staff.
The quality of the Papillon is reflected in everything from the complementary ice water, to the bread with a delicious spread till the warm and friendly (not over the top) themed ambiance of the restaurant.
We went to eat here several times and at we were never disappointed by the food or staff.
The menu is prepared with a lot of care and devotion and all dishes are exquisite. It must be your own taste if you do not like any of the ordered food.
The used products are fresh, fair and pure. We think the food /quality ratio is great as are all staff members.

We finally had an opportunity to eat at Pappillon and it will not be our last time. Everything was excellent but we need to make special notice of the Chilean Sea Bass. It was out of this world. There were six of us for dinner and each of us all enjoyed our appetizers, entrees and desserts. The wine list is quite good with both affordable and higher priced wines to chose from. Tina made the evening very enjoyable with her friendly, welcoming and professional introduction to the restaurant. Don't miss this one! (I particularly enjoyed the music as well.)

We went to Papillon for the early bird special. The food was exceptionally good! The grouper was so fresh and juicy. I especially like the vanilla ice-cream with diced melon and strawberry sauce.

I will definitely go back and try the other dishes!

The location is good, the food is good and the service is good.
The Bouillabaisse is the best I ever had {I have eaten Bouillabaisse all over the world}.
The Lamb rack was very special.
If you wanne know something about wine, just ask TINA.
She knows everything about wine.
The winelist is very good too.
The sercice is perfect. They give you the feeling, that you are very welcome.
We will be back in april 2010.

We had dinner at Papillon last night. We had one of the best meals we have ever had. A wonderful evening all around. We ate outside where there was a nice breeze. The food was wonderful (tuna trio appetiser should not be missed). My wife had a filet and I had veal- both very good. We finished with the desert of the day- a currant bombe.
Then Tina offered us a special cocktail to end our meal. Highest recomendation we can give. Tina and Marloes were both great.
