Best on the island. The food was prepared beautifully, the taste was excellent, the atmosphere beyond compare. What a well kept secret. Overheard people talking about it on the beach and decided to give it a try. Glad we did. The cleanest rest rooms on the island as well. GIVE IT A TRY, YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID. I GIVE IT A 10 PLUS.

Absolutely beautiful setting for a romantic meal. Rocky was our waiter and provided excellent service. Food was fabulous. Would definitely go there again.

WOW! this restaurant was simply amazing... My wife and I are in Aruba for our honeymoon, and this was an absolute perfect fit for what we were looking for. Dinner had an excellent pace, we never felt rushed, the staff was both knowledgeable and extremely friendly!!! I would say that the dining experience is more geared towards adults, maybe older children, but i would leave the young ones at the hotel for this. The food was simple, yet prepared excellently. Easily the highlight of our trip to Aruba.

We went to Old Man By the Sea on October 9, 2009, it was fabulous. The waitstaff was attentive but not obtrusive. The meal was themost private of our vacation with wonderful food. We were not rushed at all, able to take our time and enjoy the night. Food was delicious, get the banana's foster for dessert - worth every calorie. This is a restuarnt we will definitely visit again on our next trip to Aruba!!

If you want good food and also a "romantic" mood, look no more. The Old Man & The Sea Restaurant is every bit as beautiful as the pictures in the magazines. The owners went to great lengths when it came to decorations, making the restaurant absolutely beautiful, and even the restrooms are a thing of beauty.

Needless to day, the ambiance is wonderful.

Now the food! Wow! Everything we had was extremely good. Everything was so good that it put us in a great mood.

Their advertisements definitely live up to the hype.

I don't typically like to brag or write about the places i go to, but for service and quality i experienced at this restaurant it is worth spreading the word out about this amazing place.

This place was much more pleasant then any other restaurant i visited on the island. The atmosphere and the beautiful scenery of the ocean and the sunset was unmistakably the most amazing dinner me and my wife have had in a long time.

I'm originally from NYC and so my expectation were as high as the clouds could be, because of the amazing places we have here, but Old man and the Sea seemed to be a class above everyone else. Amazing food, amazing service and just an amazing experience all in all! I would recommend it to anyone i see here, and i will!

My friend and I went to this restaurant on a Friday night and although the food was good, the service was horrible. I had the Mahi Mahi encrusted with macadamias and spicy papaya sauce and my friend had the Snapper and both were very good but to spend 3 hours in a restaurant is inexcusable. And it wasn't even busy - out of maybe 20-25 available tables, only 4 tables were being used! When I have to wait 45 minutes for an appetizer and another hour for my main course, then you know the service is bad. If it was busy, I'd still be waiting for my food. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere but I'd rather go back to Flying Fishbone and/or Passions were the food is just as good but the service is a lot better.

I tried to write this review when I was in Aruba in January but for some reason it didn't post. Well let me tell you - of all the restaurants we've visited all over Europe, Canada and the United State - Old Man and The Sea was the most romantic and beautiful. My husband has already promised to take me there again this year for my birthday. I felt like a movie star - I don't think there's a lovelier setting anywhere. We dined on the private island and the food and service were excellent. Can't wait to go back!

My husband and I ate here on our last night in Aruba. We certainly saved the best for last! The decor and ambiance was the most romantic we've experienced. The hostess volunteered to take several pictures with various backdrops -- very gracious. Recommend going once its dark to appreciate the candles, waves lapping on the shore in front of you and billowing palms. Wait-staff made you feel like you were the only people there and gave you time to savor the meals and one another. Highly, highly recommend!!

Our party of 5 celebrated our daughter's birthday here. The setting was perfection. The food was quite enjoyable. Service was amazing. We loved the live music. The sunset was a wonderful thing to enjoy. I made the reservations online, noting that it would be a birthday celebration. They did not disappoint. Dessert featured a sparkler and the musician played "Hsppy Birthday" and the entire restaurant sang!
A perfect evening!
