My boyfriend and I just visited Aruba for our third time. I made reservations at OM&TS after reading the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The ambience is wonderful - so romantic! Rockie was our server and he was great! We really enjoyed his humor. The food was very nice especially the grouper. If you like Banana's Foster, they have the best I've tasted! I can't forget the lilting music which was the perfect accompaniment to the dinner and atmosphere. This restaurant is a must for an evening of romance!

My wife Carolyn and I just returned from our third trip to the beautiful Island of Aruba. We have tried many of the restaurants on the Island and The Old Man and The Sea was recommended to us.We drove down to the restaurant from the Marriott Hotel which is approximately 1/2 hour.
Our reservation was at 6:30 we were seated next to the water with the sun setting while a piano played and a Saxophone played soft and romatic music. The torches were lit around the property and candles were glimmering from all the tables. The location was great. The staff was accomodating the manager stopped by ever table and spoke with the customers. The food was exceptional we asked for some sangria with dinner and they were accomodating. The food was excellent we never felt rushed and I would recommend the Old Man and the Sea as a unique and special place to dine.

This is now our favorite restaurant in Aruba!!!!!
We were invited by friends ted and daisey johnson to celebrate my husbands birthday.
It is the most beautiful restaurant on the island and the food is outstanding.
The owners son played the piano for us and it was vry nice talking with him.
We now own a home in Aruba and we will be back everytime we are on the island for a wonderful evening do not miss this outstanding restaurant.
If you have the opportunity to sit in the gazabo by the water you must do so we did and it made the evening even more special.

We decided to try the Old Man and The Sea and we are happy we did.

The setting is outstanding. We had one of the best sun sets we have ever had.

We were sat down as soon as we arrived even though we arrived before our reservation. The waiter was very good and the food was also very good.

Can't wait to go back next year when we visit.

We have been going to Aruba for over 18 years so we were looking for a new restaurant to try. We visited the " old man and the sea "during the day to check it out. We loved the atmosphere and ate there on March 26th, 2009 . IT was wonderful! The ambiance, and the setting is so romantic. IF you go, take your camera and arrive to see the sunset. We did a 6:30 reservation. The food is greatand the prices are reasonable. They have only been opened for 9 months. They will do very well, we will definitely return next year. IT is so very different> the owner is an artist and has a very good eye for decoration. Absolutely worth visiting. There is no other place quite like it on the Island
IT is delicious as well as enchanting.
Sitting on the beach with the trade winds softly blowing and being serenaded as well. The music was perfect.

My last night on my first trip to Aruba, I went to The Old Man & the Sea. I had reservations at another restaurant, but the reviews I had heard about this place while on my trip from other vacationers as well as the hotel staff made us change our reservation to come here! The food, ambiance, and service were outstanding. Being from the NYC area, I have dined at many fine restaurants and I felt that this restaurant could compete with many places here. By far the most romantic place I have ever been to. My boyfriend and I had the best dinner on the island here! I can't wait to go back!

We chose this restaurant based on reviews from this site and were not disappointed. Showed up late for reservation but were still seated waterside for our sunset dinner. Ricky, with Sandy's Assistance, provided excellent service, knowledge and just the right amount of conversation. Sandy offered to take our pictures for us, which we appreciated (being the tourists that we are). Can't say enough about the food - soup was served hot, salad fresh, entre's well timed and beautifully presented. Gilbert (manager) gave us the lowdown on the place and answered all of our questions. We felt like we were having our own private dinner on the beach - it's what we payed for and received. Take the time to find this gem.

We visited this restaurant March 18, 2009 Aruba's National Anthem and Flag Day .At the door we were greeted by Thelmo, the Bartender, then we were seated by Patricia, the Hostess. At the table we were greeted again by the wait staff. My husband ordered the cream of conch which was the soup of the day.Nice and spicy.I ordered the grouper filet grilled which was the catch of the day and my husband and my son ordered the catch of the day aruban style (red snapper sliced),with
local creole sauce on the side served with pan bati(corn bread),funchi(polenta), fried plaintains and vegetables.Three fantastic entrees. The quesillo was awesome and the service was outstanding.Raquel and Dimitri were very nice.Hubert, the manager and Mrs Osyth, the owner came by the table to say hello. What a dining experience!

This place will not disappoint. We had a sunset dinner here on our anniversary and truly enjoyed every aspect of it. We had a lovely table all the way on the left, facing the sunset, and loved the opportunity to take in the amazing surroundings. The waitstaff is very friendly and they are also very accomodating to everyone who asked them to take photographs at the table and on the dock during sunset. They know why you're there and seem to really want to help you enjoy it. Our scallop appetizers were very good and our grouper entrees were delicious as well (both the Grilled and Macadamia Nut crusted.) The wine our waiter recommended complemented our meal perfectly. And as a special surprise, they brought out a little fireworks laden desert in honor of our anniversary. This was a lovely experience overall and we have already recommended this restaurant to others visiting Aruba.

Our second time in The Old Man and The Sea. Fabulous, fabulous...the atmosphere is absolutely stunning. Very romantic. It's a must see place when in Aruba. Food is very good, service is super, friendly and professional. We spoke to the manager, Glbert, very polite and friendly person. Love the atmosphere and the fresh papaya fish.
We will definitely go back.
