Menu was terrible

After reviewing the menu on RestaurantsAruba.com, I made reservations for 8 people (2 tables of 4). After being seated and accessing the menu with our phone, we were terrible disappointed that we only had the menu from the 19th hole. We were expecting a beautiful dinner that had been experienced previous years at Tierra del Sol. On top of a terrible dinner menu, the waiters (2j that we saw, were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. They were waiting tables, seating people, tending bar, and ringing up on the register. It was very poorly managed. We have been coming for over 20 years and I am sorry to say, this will be the last year we will eat at The Restaurant at Tierra del Sol.

Improvements are needed.

We have been coming to this restaurant for a very long time. They just recently changed the menu, which includes a lot of different additives, preservatives and sauces on top of their dishes. In my opinion incompatible some times. For example they put anchovy butter on top of a beef skirt.
We have had a food poisoning during our last visit to this establishment in April 2017. I contacted the restaurant manager Mr. Estrada. He apologized for the incident and stated that he would look into it.

I was there for a brunch with my girlfriend
The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly
the food had a fantastic taste and the presentation of the plates were most high standard .
I really loved the brunch and will recommended this restaurant by all my friends ad relatives.

Best Restaurant and View in Aruba!

This restaurant has been one of our family's most cherished experiences with each visit to the island. The sunset views are spectacular and the food is delicious. And you will be treated royally by the gracious staff.

Be sure to make the effort to get to Ventanas del Mar in the Tierra del Sol resort for a first class meal that will be sure to bring you back again and again!

Special Place for last night in Aruba

When Chalet Suisse is open while we're in Aruba - that's the place we go to on our last night. But, since CS was on vacation during our entire stay - thought we'd try a new place on our last night & we were both very happy with the choice - Ventanas Del Mar. DW had the Tiger Shrimp and I had the Filet Mignon. Price was $107.52, which included 2 drinks, 2 glasses of wine, 15% Svc Chg, extra tip, 2 free glasses of wine coupons. It's an attractive restaurant, but I was surprised that the inside dining room was smaller than anticipated.

Good food bad service

This SHOULD be one of the top restaurants on the island. They have everything that they need to make this one of the top restaurants on the island. The setting is spectacular. It's in a gated golf course community that overlooks the golf course, lighthouse and Caribbean sea in the distance. Chef Jim is a gem of a chef. The problem with this restaurant is the owners have set it up for failure with the wait staff. They use Dutch interns that come to the island. As soon as the manager trains these interns to the point that they give good service... they are gone and have gone back to Holland. We were here last week and it was again a perfect setting. My tuna was good. Wife did not like the snapper special. She thought it was tough. However, the service was NOT good. We asked for extra bread at least 4 times. We had a party of 4 adults and 2 of the 4 drinks came out. The other 2 drinks showed up 5 minutes later. Our poor waitress was just lost trying to take an order. She kept scribbling on a pad of paper. I could see her shaking. It felt like her first week on the job. Later in the evening, my wine glass was empty. I counted at least 3 times that they filled up water glasses at our table but not one person asked me if I wanted another glass of wine. I would have ordered one if they has asked but they never did. I know the manager recently left about 6 months ago due to disagreements with ownership on his wait staff. The new manager came out to talk to us about our issues and she apologized and said she "knows that they have issues with wait staff". Wow.

Tierra del Sol really needs to recognize what type of potential they have and make the commitment to hire a good wait staff. The food isn't cheap so it's time to step up and get with the game!

missed chance!

When you have to compete with a wonderful (but unfortunately fully booked) restaurant like Windows on Aruba for a motherday's brunch, you better take that chance to give your guests an excellent impression of your cooking abilities. Too bad Ventanas del Mar did just the opposite. Instead of giving their guests the opportunity to order from the brunch menu, they presented a less but average lunch buffet. There was virtually nothing special to impress the guests, there are far better brunch restaurants on the island, even the mass brunches at Hyatt are much and much better than this performance. Unless the restaurant offers the nice a-la-carte brunch possibility again, don't bother go there. It is not worth your money. However compliments for the nice service, the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Aruba's Hidden Gem

By far the best restaurant in Aruba. Our family has visited this restaurnat many times and each time it is a true dining experience. The food, presentation, service, and ambiance are as good as it gets. All the other restaurants in Aruba could learn something about service from the Ventanas del Mar.

Perfect Glutenfree dinning

We want to complement the chef (Jim) for his excellent cooking and also for his care for my allergy (Glutenfree). It is no problem at all for people with this kind of allergy to have a wonderfull evening at this top restaurant. We therefore recommend this place.

We visited Aruba for the first time August 2011. It was all set up for a proposal. It was the best day of our lives thus far. I can't say enough about Tierra Del Sol. From the time we arrived by helicopter for our fly and dine, to our Manicures and Pedicures. We couldn't of ended the night any better, ending at Ventanas Del Mar. We had a private table on the green over looking the water, golf course, and light house. Wow what a view. Our waiter (Michael) was absolutely one of the best servers we have ever had. The food was out of this world. Everyone including managment was great. We ended the night with great conversation with their staff in the bar. I would highly recommend Ventanas del Mar to anyone if you love great service and food. We can't wait to go back next year!
