Just imagine fresh fish caught that morning from the sparkling clear waters off the Aruban coast. Add to that imported Argentine meats, hand selected by the chef. Mix delicately with the herbs, spices and traditional ingredients of the Caribbean and finally combine it all with the knowledge and skill of a European trained chef.

No Reservations

Mar 1, 2015 - posted by
We were on a second trip to the island and folks had told us about this place. So we decided to give it a try. Upon arrival we did not know that they only took reservations. Once we told the waiter we did not have any he looked unhappy but seated us and just asked us next time to reserve. We were treated very nice by all there as apparently this is a no, no for this place but the food was out of the world. Normally when you go out to eat your plate maybe a little warm. Steam was actually coming off both plates. Will definitely go back and will next time reserve a time with them. Great job guys!

Wacky Wahoo's was great

The food and service were great. I had the ceviche and barracuda (pan fried the Arabian way) and would order them again in a heart beat. Only thing is it's hard to get a table. You have to call between 3-5pm and in a couple days in advance, Worth it tho!!!

My husband and I decided to check out this restaurant based on a recommendation of a friend. It was so good. I had a grouper special with a lobster tail...Best meal in Aruba for me. My husband had the baracuda also good. Definitely worth a visit.I would have eaten here every nite and gotten the same thing.

As good as it gets

I have been to Aruba at least 30 times. Wacky Wahoos is by far the best restaurant there !!! I have tried just about every restaurant in Aruba. They all come across as being great but usually end up being somewhat disappointing !!! The fish is as fresh as you can possibly have. The dinners come out piping hot. When they tell you not to touch the plate, you better not touch the plate !!! Harold's attention to detail is second to none !!! The fish soup and the ceviche are fabulous !!! Choose any of the fresh fish and be delighted !!! I have traveled to many places and Wacky Wahoos is one of my all time favorite restaurants. I wish there was one in Pittsburgh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tiger prawns were excellent. I had dinner special with barracuda, lobster tail, served over Cuban rice and beans and plantains. It was excellent!! Fish was very fresh. We were at Barefoot the night before where service and ambiance were excellent. Food was good, but Wacky Wahoo was way better!!

April 2014 - BEST fish dishes period!!!!!

May 7, 2014 - posted by
Simply put, this place has the freshest most delicious fish dishes on the island hands down!

During our April 2014 visit to the island, we dined 3 times during our stay. We tried a couple of different fish they serve (grouper and wahoo). We also tried the dishes prepared a couple of different ways. No matter how they prepared the fish it was served very fresh and was SUPER DELICIOUS!!!!!!

A must try appetizer is their Arubian style ceviche. Very large serving and again very delicious (had it all 3 times we dinned here this trip). I would suggest you share as my wife and I did. The portion is probably large enough to serve as a main entree.

Also wanted to mention, the service is attentive but not overbearing.

If this is your 1st time dining here, do not be alarmed at the noise level. The acoustics are not that forgiving here. I say who gives 2 shxt's about the noise, when you get your order placed and they serve you your food, you will be in a food zone that a jack hammer couldn't pull you away from tearing into the most delicious fish dinner your taste buds will ever come cross.....

In the last review the food critic didn't have a raving review of this place. Must have been an off night because trust me, the fish we had all three nights were spot on.

This place will always be our 1st stop and last stop for dinner when we are on the island.

Harald, Rossanna and staff, keep up the great work!

Counting the months before we are back.

FIRST TIME DISAPPOINTED

Mar 25, 2014 - posted by
It was bound to happen, but we did not anticipate it happening in this fashion. We have been coming to Wacky Wahoo ever since it opened its doors. We have been rabid fans and consider the place to be one of, if not "the", the best seafood restaurants in Aruba. Our visit this year (2014), however, was a bit disappointing and we hope that it was just a bad night. Upon arrival, we noted the modest expansion of the floor space and welcome that. It seems that not too many (if any - we were told none were added) more tables were added and that gav the place a more spacious feel and a facility to the wait staff to maneuver about more easily - all of that was appreciated and it was also enjoyable not having to rub shoulders with your neighbor while you ate. As we waited for our dishes to arrive, we did notice that many of the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked as good as any that we had seen in the past and we were delighted to see that as well. Then our dishes were delivered and, unfortunately, either the plates or the cooking temperature had been so hot that the sauces associated with our dishes had broken. It might have been OK if the sauces had broken uniformly, but that was not the case and we had our first bad meal at Wacky Wahoo. No good chef would have sent the meal out given the condition of it. So we are a bit concerned as to what this may mean for the place. We have downgraded our opinion of the place and may not visit next year. In the meantime, we hope that whatever is going on will be remedied, and that our future visits will be more enjoyable. We prefer to chalk this year's experience up to a bad night and hope that it is the exception rather than the new trend. We continue to believe that Wacky Wahoo is a very good seafood restaurant (far better than most in Aruba) and, by no means, would we discourage others from going there. We will be interested in reading about other people's experiences over the future months and hope that they will all be positive ones. It would be a great disappointment to us if Wacky Wahoo is in decline and we hope that is not the case.
