I was so happy to hear that a new restaurant opened up in the former Marandi location. Nothing more exciting than sitting under a beautiful Polynesian canopy right by the ocean and being able to see airplanes landing and the ships in the sea. The food was delicious and the presentation was outstanding. The service needs to improve; as it got busier, it became slightly erratic. We come to Aruba every year and will definitely go back.

Christmas dinner for a party of 8. We really enjoyed the food. Decent portions, packed with taste!
Impeccable service, but not too formal. (I noticed the salt & pepper quietly disappeared from our table between main and desert; that's style, often forgotten).
Price: I will admit, paying for a party of 8 is a lot of money. But price is always related to quality. If you can appreciate the quality and hospitality, then Barefoot is a bargain. If not, go to some 'all-you-can-eat' joint, you will get more calories per dollar.

After reading so much about this new restaurant, we knew we had to try it and were certainly not disappointed! Luc greeted us and he recognized us from his past restaurant and quickly came over and welcomed so warmly. We loved the ambiance and the entire setting of this place.
The food was "to die for" and the service beyond reproach. Our party of nine (first night) had ordered everything from fish, to lamb to meat and everyone of us were thrilled with the meal. My husband asked for a variation of a fish dish and they were more than happy to accommodate and his was not disappointed.
Wine list and recommendations were perfect as was the delicious dessert. We loved it so much we went again the following week and tried some different dishes and were equally pleased. We think that this place has hit the #1 spot for us on a long list of wonderful restaurants in Aruba.

We went to Barefoot on the last evening of our Christmasholiday. My lady whishes a chique dinner at the beach. Unfortunately we 'discovered' Barefoot just this last day. The embience, the receive, the service, the staff and last but not least the superb prepared courses which were a feast to our papillae; this symphony of experiences made our last evening on Aruba unforgettable. Next time we'll visit Barefoot not only on our last evening but also at the first and properly in between. Thank You.

What a lovely place to have dinner. The location is perfect, the food even better and the service outstanding.

We lucked into this restaurant by meeting the owner at a different restaurant the night before. The appetizers were excellent - try them all. The food was outstanding. If you like wine and have no experience - ask Luc, both of his recommendations were very tasty. Sitting on the beach under moonlight was great with gentle breeze, can't say enough about this place.

Due to the recommendation of the concierge at the Bucuti Beach hotel we decided to take the "risk" and have a dinner at a place that is not yet on the TOP 10 restaurant list. The reward had been formidable: with the small exception of the bumpy access road literally everything turned out as a very positive surprise. Outstanding food quality, excellent price/value conditions and a very friendly and professional service made this dinner a wonderful experience !
Given that the team will be able to maintain this standard, there is no doubt that they will make it right away into the TOP 5 ranking list ! Keep on going !

My husband and I went to Barefoot on a referral from our bartender at the hotel. We are so glad we listened to him! In our opinion, this is the best restaurant on the island. It looks a little sketchy from the outside because it sits behind another building, but once inside, we found it to be breathtaking. The decor was rich and dark and there are tables sitting in the sand--in the restaurant!

We both had appetizers, I had the proscuitto and melon salad, which was wonderful. The melon was sweet and juicy and the ham was smoky and salty. The melon and ham sat on a bed of arugula and had a light citrus vinagrette drizzled over it. It was excellent. My husband had the lobster cappuchino. The bisque was velvety and rich and sumptuous.

For our main course, I had the seafood trio - shrimp, lobster and scallops. The scallops were perfectly seasoned and cooked, very tender. The shrimp had a little spice and were tender as well. The lobster was sweet and succulent, it was tender and moist. The mashed potatoes and julien vegetables were tasty as well. My husband had the surf and turf, filet mignon and scallops. His fillet was cooked to perfection, seasoned and tender and juicy. His scallops were also tender and tasty. Both of our meals were drizzled with a lobster sauce, which was very similar to the bisque.

For dessert, we ordered the coffee creme brulee. It was divine! The portions were just right and the drinks were delicious as well.

Our server was excellent and the service all around was also excellent. We didn't have to ask for refills on water, our food was delivered quickly and was hot. We had a wonderful time and recommended it to everyone we talked to. We will definitely go to Barefoot again and again.

This was our 7th annual trip to Aruba. Each year we like to try one or two new restaurants. This year I was very excited to try Barefoot based on all the great reviews I have read. We also had eaten there when it was Mirandi so we knew the location was wonderful.

We had reservations for 5:30 because we wanted to be there for sunset. We were the only ones in the entire place and decided to sit at the railing and not on the beach because of the bugs. It has been raining a lot there this fall and the bugs this year are pretty bad.

We ordered a drink first. I ordered a cocktail and my husband ordered wine. His wine was not too expensive and I could see why...the stemless glass had about three sips in it! I almost laughed when the waitress put the glass on the table. What a JOKE! Then she asked if we could wait to order after the sun went down because the flys would be better. We said that would be fine (I have NEVER seen so many flies! And we had eaten at a few other outdoor places earlier that week so not sure why they were so bad here). Unfortunately when the sun went down the flies didn't really go away too much and then the mosquitos came out!

We did order appetizers, I ordered the Lobster Cappuchinno and my husband the tomato soup. The tomato soup was very good. Mine was good but I thought there would be some pieces of lobster in it. NONE! And the bowls they use look like they are a good size, but they really do not hold much soup for the price.

The roll and olive tapenade were very good.

By this time I am getting eaten alive. It started to rain too so we had to move tables. No big deal.

For our meals I ordered the surf and turf and my husband the pesto pasta. Again the pasta came out in what looked to be a large dish but there wasn't much to it at all! It was $19 for a bowl of pasta, no meat! My surf and turf was a joke! $32.00 for 3 scallops, the tiniest piece of steak I have ever seen and about 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes. The scallops were good but the steak was awful! NO flavor at all! I asked for it medium and it was well done. I ALMOST sent it back but I was getting eaten alive and just wanted dinner to be done at this point. I think that the prices they are charging for these tiny portions are just outrageous. This was the only meal we had in the 13 days we were there where we left hungry.

When our meal was done the waitress asked if we wanted dessert. I told her no because I was getting too many mosquito bites. THEN and only then did she ask me if I wanted some bug spray! HELLO!!! Why didn't you offer it like an hour ago! Most of the other outdoor places we ate at would tell us first thing that there was bug spray if we needed it. She went ahead and did bring it with the check. Gee thanks... We couldn't get out of there any faster. The meal was almost $100 and not worth it at all. We will not return. I am just glad we still have Mirandi to go to.
