Located at the beach near the airport at the roundabout. Owner Gerco (chef) and Luc (Maitre d') have created a unique dining experience where you can enjoy the best Aruba has to offer: a great view of the ocean and sunset, experienced and friendly staff and high quality food.
Ideal for special occasions or just a wonderful night out!

Barefoot is beautifully located at the sea. We opted for a table on the deck, but dining on the beach was also possible. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, and the beautiful and stylish decorations. The food was excellent, and the service even better. A recommendation for everyone who needs a relaxing evening!

Wow! Aruba is already blessed with a number of outstanding restaurants but now we can add a nr.1 favorite to our list with the new Barefoot Restaurant. My wife and I come to Aruba for many years now and we love dining out in a Carribean and romantic setting outside.

This is the place to be, dinner under the giant palapa in an unique atmosphere. A very warm welcome by the staff and a very attractive and complete menu made us very exiting for the dinner ahead us. It was superb!!

Fantastic meals, to much to write down here. But the combination of tuna tartar and tuna carpaccio you have to try, as also the lobster cappuccino. The main courses are also perfect and seldom we tasted a sauce Bearnaise as good as here.

At Barefoot you can even have a romantic diner with your feet in the sand when the weather does not cooperate, thanks to the giant palapa. We will certainly return to this fantastic restaurant!

We had dinner here last week and this restaurant is one of the best on Aruba. We were very impressed and especially the open air atmosphere with the comfort of the palapa is something I always loved.

The menu has a good variety and is different than at other restaurants on Aruba. The food we ordered was perfect, especially the Caribbean Grouper is fabulous, a good size portion and a very tasty combination with the mango cream cheese

I really felt comfortable at this restaurant, the service was also very attentive and friendly. I live on Aruba and remember Luc & Gerco from Marandi already and I am confident that this will be a success

I am already looking forward going back.

It is our pleasure to write a review for this restaurant. Since we have been coming to Aruba for many years now we are always anxious to try out new restaurants. We had heard about Barefoot through friends of ours who were raving about the food, so we had to try it. Let me first say that this will soon be one of the TOP restaurants in Aruba as the word begins to get out. Our experience there was one that will bring us back each year. We started our meal with appetizers that consisted of Lobster Capuccino, which was a Lobster bisque soup with a true vanilla froth on top, the presentation was beautiful and the soup left us wanting for more, it was exceptional. The Beef Carpaccio was also ordered and found it to be again very tasty and wonderfully done with a salad encased within a cucumber slice..very unusual. For the main courses, the menu offers many selections and we chose to have the Caribbean Grouper, which was a nice size Grouper filet topped with a Mango Cream Cheese sauce, again a great choice. Also ordered were Shrimp in a pesto sauce,, the shrimp were extra large and cooked to the right consistency and once again enjoyed by all. To think that our meals could not of been beat, we ordered the desert sampler, which was a combination of all that Barefoot has to offer and one desert was better than the next. The desert selections for the sampler were Berry Soup ( a puree of mixed berries served in a shot glass), Coffee Creme Brulee, Lemon pie and a Chocolate desert that was to die for. We really enjoyed the attention that was given to us by Luc, the maitre de and we hope that we are right in stating that this should be rated one of the best on the island. We want to wish Luc and his staff the best of luck with this restaurant and look forward to eating there again on our next trip. It is a restaurant that should be on your list to try while you are in Aruba, we did and can't wait for our next trip back.

We travel to Aruba about once a year and try to dine at one "new" restaurant each time. Barefoot Restaurant was a spectacular find. On the waterfront in the old Mirandi site, it is hard to believe it has been open only two weeks. The atmosphere is relaxing with a wonderful view of the beach and sunset. Service was very quietly attentive, experienced and knowledgeable. There is a full bar and the wine list has a broad spectrum of offerings at expected prices. And most of all...the food is the best we have had on the island. We started with the Lobster Cappuccino and Two Tomatoes ( a light tomato soup and a chunky tomato/mozzarella salad . They were just the beginning of an evening of exquisite tastes. The Mahi Mahi with house smoked salmon was an excellent blend of two very different fishes in a light wine caper sauce. Our other meal was the grouper with parma ham and another hit! We just had to try dessert and at Luc's recommendation, split the Forest Berry Soup. It was a wonderful mix of berry puree, strawberry sorbet with a hint of mint. The perfect ending. Can't wait to come back. This is be on the top of our list!

Dinner for 4. Relaxed atmosphere, quality food. I am sure if I return in a couple of weeks I will be able to give even higher marks. And then I will try to leave a spot for desert :)

We were eager to try out Barefoot when we learned about its opening. We were not disappointed. The location on the beach and the sophisticated decor along with a delicious menu was one of the best restaurant experiences we've had. We started with cocktails and then had the beef carpaccio and the tuna duo - tartar and tuna carpaccio. Both were excellent. The tables were set beautifully and the presentations were works of art. Luc was very helpful in walking us through the menu choices and explaining his vision. Dan and I had the caribbean grouper and the Mahi Mahi Salmon combo. Both entrees were exceptional and paired beautifully with the chardonnay we ordered. We finished with the Grand Dessert which is their sampling of desserts on the menu. Included in it are the lemon pie with rasberry coulis, coffee creme brulee, Chocolate mousse and a berry dessert. Wow.
The decor is elegant and casual at the same time. We're already looking forwards to another visit before heading back to NYC. Don't miss this welcome addition to Aruba.

Luc and Gerco have done a spectacular job with their new Barefoot endeavor. I am very pleased to be the 1st review of their restaurant. It is in Marandi's original location, which is to the left of Havana Beach Club. The palapa is given a modern twist with comfortable seating, cool lighting, and wonderful/delicious food. We were there on Sept 1st, and for a place that just opened-you'd never know it. All of us are foodies and live in the DC area with some restaurants that have national acclaim. I could pick Barefoot up and place it in Georgetown and it could rival any of the long term local establishments. Gerco has done a fabulous job of creating some new, mouthwatering dishes and I have to say not one of us ate anything that was less than stellar. To start, I had the lobster cappuccino which had a wonderful texture with the right hint of vanilla to give it a playfulness in your mouth. It puts any lobster soup/bisque to shame! The for the main course the Caribbean Grouper, which has a mango/cream cheese topping. The texture was light/creamy/and with a fusion of mango/light spices it would make any non fish lover change their mind right on the spot. My husband had shellfish trio and the sauce alone made all of our mouths water. Our friend, started with the Greek salad, which could have been a meal within itself, and all the ingredients were fresh and crisp. For her entree she had the Sirloin steak and she said it was one of the best bearnaise sauces she ever had, plus she loves medium rare and it was cooked to the perfect temperature. For dessert we all wanted something simple, since we were so full we shared the vanilla gelato with chocolate sauce. Gelato beats American ice cream anyday and you could really taste the vanilla beans and the sauce was thinner than hot fudge but it was made with Dutch cocoa so when it melted the gelato, it almost had a malted milk-ball taste. We licked our plates clean! Barefoot was so good and there were so many choices we had to go back for a 2nd night! This time I did 2 apps the goat cheese salad and the scallops. The goat cheese looked like a work of art on my plate and at first I thought it was served on prosciutto, but to my surprise it was roasted red peppers! The combination in my mouth was unreal, I went to Greece and back in 30 seconds. Plus snacking on the homemade bread with the salad was such a treat. Then for my main course I had the vanilla scallops, you could smell the vanilla as soon as the plate was placed in front of you. They are actually skewered with vanilla beans and the infusion of them with the saffron mayo sauce/carmalized endives really makes for a wonderful sweet/bitter combination in your mouth. The only negative comment I had about this dish was there were only 2 of them on the plate, they were medium in size but 3 would have been ideal! For dessert that night we had the chocolate mousse which were served in tall shot glasses, had the right hint of sweetness, and it was just enough to finish off the perfect meal. For a place that just opened we were WOWED!!! We will definitely return to Barefoot next year, I just do not know how Gerco and Luc could top themselves. My prediction is that this place will become the #1 restaurant in Aruba by the end of 2011! It is worth the hunt to find this hidden treasure. Happy eating!
