Terrible

Mar 27, 2024 - posted by
We got there at about 5:00pm we were waiting in the line to get seated, the line was hardly moving but still waited. At 6:30 a waitress told the line it was a free for all and it was so busy so look for a seat, even if it is reserved. We went so sit at a table and a server screamed in me and my daughters face saying it is reserved and we need to go wait in line, even though we had told him another waitress said we could but was still yelling at us. We decide to leave at then, as we walk out, we see two waitresses vaping in the back room. Overall our worst dining experience in Aruba.

Terrible

I came to Aruba with a friend. After going to the Bungaloe on a Monday night I figured that it’s Monday I’ll give it another try on Wednesday and then Friday. Just to see the difference in the nights. Monday night I had three glasses of wine and my bill cane to $18.75. Not too bad. The man behind the bar not once but twice was pouring down sweat and it dropped in my wine. I tried the 3 glasses of wine thing again on Wednesday night and it was $22.75. I am only going to observe. The wine tasted stale and the food that I got was cold. Maui Maui dinner plus over priced. I then went back on Friday and they forgot my meal completely and were so busy I couldn’t get a drink. I stood in front of the same bar tender I had Wednesday night and he didn’t notice me first at least 45 minutes. I won’t be going back.

funky place for typical bar food but a great

funky place for typical bar food but a great location. food was typical fried bar food, most previously frozen, especially the calamari. in addition to a very small portion, it was terrible to say the least. you can easily tell it was packaged frozen food style and taste (or lack of taste). drinks were fine and prices were moderate as they should be for this quality of food. probably a better place for happy hour drinking than dinner.

Great atmosphere , great music

Had dinner at Bugaloe on Tuesday night. What a blast. We sat at the bar and the staff was super friendly. Unfortunately, the bartender forgot to put our order in and we ended up waiting a very long time for the food. When she realized, she apologized. The music was awesome so we weren’t too upset by that. I had the steak and my friend had the grouper. Both were delicious. There are probably too many fries on the plate and the presentation is pretty much about placing your entree on top of the fries but nonetheless, the steak and grouper were yummy.

We would definitely come back here next time we visit Aruba. Have to say it was the most fun we had at night the whole week!

Must try

Bugaloe has the best burger on the island and we enjoy going on Sunday nights to see the group Equator perform. This group performs a variety of songs and each person in the group can sing! Casual, fun and relatively inexpensive!

We found this by chance and make it a stop for us each year! The music and staff are both fun and of quality. We will continue to visit as we really enjoy the band Equator bass player is engaging and fun, guitar player does an exceptional job very talented and the up front singer sounds just like Stevie Nicks!

Really great lunch menu! Neat Caribbean island pier bar and restaurant. One of the best cheeseburgers I enjoyed in a long, long time. Plenty of cooling trade winds and a super view of Palm Beach.

Must be missing something...

Read all the positive reviews of the place and decided to walk down for lunch one day. The pier is pretty cool and we saw some puffer fish swimming near the edge of the dock which was fun. That's where the good notes end...

Took over an hour for 3 grouper wraps, salad and a slice of pizza to be served. The wraps were tasteless and came with no sides. My wife's pizza looked so bad I had to try it out of morbid curiosity, and I can confidently say it was the worst bite of pizza I have ever had. Ever. We didn't complain about the wait for the food, but the staff must have noticed and didn't charge us for our drinks when the bill came; though we only had one round each the gesture was appreciated.

Overall can't think of any reason to come back here. I wasn't expecting world-class fare and service but it was really just not good in any way. Worst dining experience of our trip.

We both enjoyed our dinner here last week & decided on a 2nd visit. We both had the Monday Red Snapper special priced at $20 for a grilled whole Red Snapper. The fish were pretty large & filled the plate. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Total amount for food, 2 drinks, 2 glasses of wine, plus tip came to $79.
