Chalet Suisse

We went there last year and again this year. The steak is phenomenal and we had a great waitress. The wine stewardess was kind of pushy and we had a group of people near us that were loud so that's why "environment" took somewhat of a hit. But, it's become a favorite of ours when we visit the island.

The food was really good. My family really enjoyed going there.

Like many posters here, I qualify as a very happy repeat Chalet Suisse guest and fan. I've also probably been going there longer than just about anyone here - starting right from their "spantenbier" building ceremony back in the late 1980s, then regular Friday nights with my family. After an almost 10 year absence from Aruba I brought my husband for his first Chalet Suisse dinner recently to rave reviews from a normally reserved Brit. While some might find the setting and menu a bit traditional, there is a very good reason why some dishes and restaurants become true classics. Personal recos for the rack of lamb, schnitzels, any kind of fish, desserts from their latest chef and tropical concoctions from their talented bartender. Bring your (big) appetite, say hello to Benny, Rudy and the entire crew of attentive, long-term staff. In two shakes of a cocktail, mouthwatering bites of prime steak, or spoonfuls of delicious sauce they will have YOU feeling like family too.

By far one of the best on the island.We have been coming to the island for 10 years and have always had a great meal.Benny & his staff are always very happy to see you & make sure everything just right.We were there on 12/2 & 12/7. We had viener schnitzel & beef stroganof.For desert we had the also delicious apple strudel.We took some friends & they very happy we showed them Chalet Suisse. Hope to see you next year

Friends have been telling us to try the Chalet Suisse and this November we did. The food was excellent, the service was top notch, but the dining room was a little too bright for my taste.

We have been dining at Chalet Suisse for the past 15 years that we have been coming to Aruba (every October). We eat dinner there 3 times during our 2-week stay, and our most recent visit, last month, only reinforced what we already knew: this is definitely, bar none, the best restaurant on the island! From the minute that we walk in and Benny (the Host with the Most) says "Welcome Home", we feel at home and so comfortable there. Rudy also always greets us with his friendly smile and they make us feel that they are really glad to see us again! We always ask to be seated with Humphrey - the best server on Aruba, and also better than most here in the U.S. Humphrey is warm, friendly, and most attentive, and truly a "master" at his profession. We also love Ruben "Tattoo", a fantastic assistant, with the most engaging smile. He is also so efficient at everything he does. We will miss all of them until we come back next year. It goes without saying that the food at Chalet Suisse is wonderful! A few of our favorites are the french onion soup, filet mignon, duck, lobster tail, and grouper. The chocolate mousse for dessert is a great finish. We have tried so many restaurants all over Aruba and nowhere have we had better food! All I can say is we wish Chalet Suisse would open another place here in Scottsdale, Arizona!

What a great time we had in Aruba, dinner 3 times at Chalet Suisse.
First there is Rudy your host then Benny brings you to oyur table, the you have the great pleasure to meet Lucy Aruba's bar maid beyond compare.
We had many different items over three dinners, but if you don't have the Wiener Schnitzel you missed a great meal.
Great food and you also must have the the ghost what a drink, but be careful more then one and you may dance on the tables.
All in all this is a must visit .

One of Aruba's best. At the Chalet, you are PAMPERED! The Manhattens are the best on the island. I had the Double Veal Chop (exquisite) and my girlfriend explored with the Wiener Schnitzel (tasty but she thought it would have been better served with a sauce to spice it up). The Creme Brulee was very good. We'll always return to the Chalet Suisse!!!

My husband and I had dinner here on October 23, 2009. The food was excellent. The service was very good and everyone was very attentive. Humphrey was very friendly and checked with us several times to see that everything was ok,and we were pleased with our meal. We got there a little early and actually had the Early Bird Special. There are many good selections and everything was cooked just right. The food presentation was very good too. I highly recommend Chalet Suisse for great food, beautiful atmosphere and wonderful service.

We had been deep sea fishing in the morning and took our fresh catch of Wahoo & Mahi to be prepared. They did a great job of this preparing it differently and giving us 3 sauses to taste with it. FrenchOnion soup was great.. Service was first class, drinks were also good. Was a little expensive but good.
