Driftwood Restaurant
We are located in the heart of downtown and offer you and your guests a unique dining experience. Enjoy the freshest fish, biggest shrimp, or the most succulent Caribbean lobster amid the rustic ambiance of the natural driftwood dining room. Our menu includes a large variety of typically Aruban delicacies including our three star fish soup and our mouth-watering filet of fish served with a mild creole sauce (Aruban Style), a seafood lovers dream come true. Furthermore all dishes are prepared with an Aruban touch and accompanied by pan bati, our famous Aruban corn bread.

First of all you have to actually FIND this restaurant... more of an issue for the city of Oranjestad than the Driftwood. However, we found the service to be average at best. We participated in the AGA Dine-Around Program, and were disappointed to find that most of the better items on the menu carried a surcharge over and above the pre-paid tickets we bought. Several of the wait staff were rather indifferent and not terribly friendly. The food was OK, and the dessert was best. I think there are a number of better restaurants in Aruba for your dollar.

We were in aruba just last week for carnival and went to different restaurants. By far our favorite was the Driftwood. Too bad we went on our last night so we could not repeat.

The food was excellent. Try the seafood thermidor, as my girlfriend said, it is to die for! The chowder and the sangria were equally great.

Seems as though the "catch of the day" every day for weeks and more is Wahoo!
The food was fine, the service was fine, the atmosphere was fine.
All was just fine,, not sure if I can give it any better accolades though.
After spending a week on the Island and comparing the food, the service and the prices this place pales in comparison.

Without a doubt, if you want to eat the best and freshest seafood on the island, Driftwood is the place to go. I have eaten their at least twice every one week vacation I have in Aruba a year. The service has always been great and the waiters always remember the return customers which makes the service extra-good. The food, service and ambiance here is by far the best in the island!

Food was good but the waitress was NOT at all friendly. She seemed like she was taking care of about 8 tables. Never checked on us at all. Lots of kids and families

Very good food even though it was not recommended by our local friends. Pretentious staff. We got there at 6pm on Saturday, only one table being used and was asked if we had reservations. Looked down his nose at us when we said "no." However, by 6:45 pm, almost every table was taken. Get there early or have reservations! Seriously, the food was excellent -- actually too much of it. Service was good because we beat the rush. It appeared to slip as time went by and the load increased.

Dined at the Driftwood last evening. Snapper was average. Vegetables were frozen. Salad was iceberg and unimaginative. Service was unaccomodating.
