El Gaucho

We had such a wonderful time here, the food and service was great

We thought we were leaving Aruba without being able to try this place that was recommended to us. When the Tapas restaurant was closed we happily noticed El Gaucho was right beside it. We were the first customers in for lunch and had their lunch special. We had a four course lunch and the meat kabobs was very tender filets! We left very happy and stuffed!!

Food was average. They did not have salads left at 4 pm.... service was terrible! The waitress was rude at all times.

Went to El Gaucho yesterday and was very disappointed. This used to be our favorite restaurant on the island but it has been slipping the last few years. Service was good and most of the food was good. We both ordered the tenderloin which they should probably rename as it definitely was anything but tender. It was the chewiest tenderloin we have ever had. It was even hard to cut. Since they are a steakhouse this is why we only give the review a 5. The sides were still very good but we do not go to a steakhouse for the sides. They also have a very good garlic bread but don't enjoy it too much. Our bread basket contained a whole 3 small pieces. We still can't figure out why you would bring 2 people 3 pieces. I guess someone has to get shorted. No problem, just ask for more right? Well that 2nd basket will cost you $3 more. First time in my 60 years of life I was ever told there would be a charge if you wanted more bread. We always visit El Gaucho twice a week during our timeshare but not this year. They can keep their so called tenderloin and I don't need to pay $3 to get another slice of bread that probably costs them 30 cents for another basket. We will take our business to LG Smith which has always been excellent. It's a shame to see El Gaucho quality decline and get greedy but after seeing other reviews we see that we are not the only ones who have noticed the fall off in quality.

Brought a couple of first-time Aruba visitors to our favorite restaurant and it quickly became their favorite. The Ribeye, the Gaucho, the lamb chops, the filet were all amazing. 3 sides for each meal left for plenty of leftovers. One of the first-timers joked with the traveling musicians and requested some Irish music and sure enough, they knew "When Irish Eyes are Smiling". Capped off a great evening.

We have been to Aruba 5 years in a row and have always made sure we ate here at least once every visit.
We were there October of this year and my beloved ribeye was terrible.
I am sad to say my favorite steakhouse on the planet has become a below average meal.

Little bit further cab ride $ 12 bucks.If that dont bother you from palm beach area ,i am sure your off to a great start.Espresso martinis are great,split the porter house.Lobster tail was giant.garlic shrimp app was dynamite,bread was wonderful.worth the choice .Ill be back

I go there every year with my family. Last Summer 2014 and the portions were half the size of the year before and the prices were the same. The server made me uncomfortable, calling me things like sweetie or honey. Very disappointed. El Gaucho used to be something that I looked forward to every year, and now we will not be returning.

We go to El Gaucho twice each time we visit as it is our favorite restaurant! We went last week and are headed there tonight. I can honestly say that our food and our service remains top notch! The steaks are the very best on the island and the sides are excellent. We always always get the tenderloins and they never disappoint! Sangria is the best!
