El Gaucho
El Gaucho is located in an old townhouse at 80 Wilhelminastreet, it's the first Argentine restaurant to open it's doors in Aruba on February 17, 1977.

El Gaucho Restaurant serves a variety of tempting dishes, featuring quality Argentine steaks, tender and juicy, charcoal-grilled to perfection, such as the famous Gaucho steak, 16 oz sirloin, Pincho Torro Caliente (the biggest shishkebab ever served) T-bone steak, vealchop and more. While many restaurants are currently serving Churrasco steak, we must say that our version is the original and still the very best.

Our #1 restaurant on Aruba. I make our reservations online from home. The Gaucho steak is unbelievable. When the kids can't come to Aruba they always ask if we'd bring home an El Gaucho steak for them...of course we can't, but we do take pix of our steaks :) They serve the steaks with a small salad, broccoli, corn on the cobb and potatoes...Also, garlic bread... I love the flan for dessert. Don't go to Aruba without visiting El Gaucho....You need reservations.

My husband and I ate at El Gaucho last October on our honeymoon trip to Aruba. We loved it! We had reservations but still had a long wait. The "waiting room" bar across the street was terrific though and we will plan to arrive early for our next reservation just so we can hang out there.

The food was fantastic from the fresh bread all the way to the dessert. You get many side items (more than usual) and portions are huge.

The only reason I rated the toilets a 5 is because we were seated upstairs and you had to take an elevator to reach the bathrooms on the first floor. The elevator was slow and the door did not always open. Made me feel uncomfortable so this time I specifically requested a table on the first floor.

Atmosphere is loud but fun. We're trying the French Steakhouse this time around but so far, in our opinion, El Gaucho is tops! Just make sure you are hungry!
