El Gaucho
El Gaucho is located in an old townhouse at 80 Wilhelminastreet, it's the first Argentine restaurant to open it's doors in Aruba on February 17, 1977.

El Gaucho Restaurant serves a variety of tempting dishes, featuring quality Argentine steaks, tender and juicy, charcoal-grilled to perfection, such as the famous Gaucho steak, 16 oz sirloin, Pincho Torro Caliente (the biggest shishkebab ever served) T-bone steak, vealchop and more. While many restaurants are currently serving Churrasco steak, we must say that our version is the original and still the very best.

All I can say is: The Gaucho Steak!!
It's a great steak and the leftovers will make some nice steak sandwiches the next day. The red Sangria is also one of our favorites as well.

El Gaucho is one of my favorites anywhere in the world. We have been to Aruba 5 times and have made it a point to go back each time. Most recently celebrated my 40th birthday with my wife and 2 year old daughter there.

My 18 oz strip was as good a steak as I have had anywhere at anytime at any price. My wife had the pan seared grouper (day's catch) which was also wonderful.

The strolling guitar player fascinated my daughter and he probably spent 15 minutes singing to her.

Finished with an Oreo cheesecake with a candle, although everyone sang happy birthday to my daughter, not me, which was more enjoyable anyway.

Couldn't have been a better meal or better experience. One week later my daughter is still saying Gaucho - Gaucho!!!!

Comparable prices to a Ruth's Chris or Morton's, but the experience is as good as you'll find.

DW is not a red-meat person & I sort of don't like to go to steak houses since DW sometimes doesn't have many choices at those places. DW had the chicken breast & as usual I had the Gaucho steak. With all due respect to Liz from NJ - the Gaucho steak is not Filet Mignon. I don't care what the folks at El Gaucho tell you, but that cut of meat is definitely not Filet Mignon. If someone in your party orders the Filet Mignon & someone else orders the Gaucho steak – do a taste test - the texture of the 2 cuts are not the same. We both enjoyed our meals - I finished the steak & DW took half the chicken breast for next day's lunch. Service, drinks, & wine were all very good. I asked the wandering minstrels to sing "Amore" for DW. Cost with 15% SC & extra tip = 92.06

My husband and I LOVED El Gaucho! The steak was excellent and the garlic shrimp was amazing! We loved everything about it and the service is top notch. It's a casual, cozy restaurant with excellent food. We can't wait to go back next year!

Everything about this restaurant was brilliant. We visited in August 2009 and although we ate at some top class restaurants, El Gaucho's was the meal I most enjoyed. Anyone visiting Aruba shouldn't miss eating there.

We have eaten at El Gaucho on each of our 5 trips to Aruba and it is always our favorite 1 or 2 places to eat. The best steaks anywhere.

We were nervous because we heard some bad reviews lately. This was our 10th time at El Gaucho and it was excellent like every other time. Great steak and the dipping sauces are the best. The corn is so good. Can't wait to go back!

I'll try to keep this short and sweet. Great pieces of meat, read the menu carefully and ask your waitor/waitress about the piece of meat you are interested in. They bring out a few different dipping sauces, soy sauce and garlic sauce were amazing on the steaks. Each dinner includes 3 sides, plenty of food. During dinner a band walks around and takes requests and plays for your table, very very nice. Great place for a filling dinner, GO HUNGRY.

We have been eating here since 1991. Itw as always great until a few years ago when we thought it was lacking the same care and flavor. Well we decided to give it another try, and I am glad we did. El Gaucho is back!! The El Gaucho steak was flavorful and juicy as it was when we first started eating here. The new side dishes are very good, lots of choices. The fried cheesecake for dessert is great. The mariachi band is always a nice addition to the evening. I will be back again.

This was our 6th year going to Aruba, but have never been to El Gaucho’s – mainly because I don’t like trying to find these places off the main roads. I got lost trying to find it, but wife spotted an old gent on his porch that set me straight. Enjoyed the Gaucho steak, excellent service, a bit noisy. Wife had the catch of the day (think it was red snapper). I was pleasantly surprised by the steak – had the Churrasco steak at the French Steakhouse 1st visit to Aruba & didn’t like it – thought it was marinated too long – not so with the El Gaucho steak. Not sure what the cut was, but from the texture I thought it was like a hanger steak. Will definitely go back in September.
