Faro Blanco Restaurant
Situated atop of the Hudishibana hill right next to Aruba’s most famous landmark the California lighthouse is our hidden gem. The Faro Blanco Restaurant which once was the dwellings of the lighthouse keeper now serves Aruba and it's guests the best in Italian cuisine.

As the only restaurant boasting this unique location, guests can enjoy a truly unspoiled view over Aruba’s west coast untouched nature. The sunset and views over Aruba create a spectacular palette of colors, ideal for taking pictures and creating new and lasting memories.

For me and my famiy this is the best Italian. The staff is very polite. My Italian mother in law loves them. Arnoldo is so funny and nice to old our parents. Tjutju is very polite and warm ... we love it.

Simply the BEST. Everything was perfect. Had our wedding rehearsal with 45 people and it was by far the BEST all of us had in Aruba. A special thanks to the entire staff that made us feel sooooo special. The live music is an asset on top of all the lovely memories we have. Everybody we spoke to on the beach agreed so I can not understand the poor rates... This is a must visit restaurant.

Unfortunately I do not think we will be returning to this restaurant on our next trip to Aruba. There are simply too many other fabulous restaurants in which to dine in Aruba. The pricing of the entree items are ridiculous for what you get. I had four jumbo fried shrimp with plain fetticine alfredo and it was $37! The shrimp were a little tough and the alfredo wasn't cooked the whole way. My husband had the cheese ravioli with seafood sauce and he did not like it at all. The raviolis were not cooked the whole way and he barely had any seafood in the sauce and it was $32! For dessert we ordered chocolate cake with molten center and the thing was so small I could have taken it as a shot and it was $10. The bugs were annoying too...they need some citronella candles or something to control that problem. The sunset is nice indeed, but I would suggest going to the lighthouse to take pictures during the sunset and go elsewhere for dinner.

The Mrs. and I stopped in for lunch while driving around one day and holy cow, what a view. This is a fantastic restaurant, it has to be, right? I mean the place is beautiful! It's got to be amazing right? Wrong. We were seated promptly and had our drinks 20 minutes later if you can believe that. We ordered a calamari dish for an appetizer and it was extremely poor. We realizing the quality of the food and the price for the dinners, we decided to cancel our dinner order and head somewhere else. So for almost $50 we had a nice view, 2 weak drinks and a bad appetizer. We won't be going back and it's such a shame, this is a beautiful restaurant.

The night started out bad when I asked gthe waiter for a terrace table and he sat us on the next level up. When I said that I did not want to sit there because of the flies (I had been before) he stated that there would be no flies and the view was the best in the house. The view of the sunset was indeed good, but I was bitten three times and my husband had bites all over his back by the end of the night. The waiter lied.

We decided to have the $48.00 set menu figuring this was the special and everything would be fresh. Absolutely not. The Crepes had been premade and prestuffed then warmed with melted cheese under the grill. The chicken on the next course was so old and dry that we left it. The gelato was a joke it was second rate icecream and we left that also. I had chosen this location as a final night dinner for my husband and I as I wanted him to leave Aruba with a phenomenal experience wanting more. Fortunately we had eaten at some very nice professional places where the food and people were outstanding so the experience we had in this terrible place did not spoil our whole vacation just our last night. I had the distinct feeling that these folks have the best view in town so they feel they do not need to expend any resources and effort on employing a great chef and providing good food and value for money. My advice is go to the lighthouse with a nice bottle of champagne and two glasses and sit right outside this restraunt and enjoy the view. Then smile at the owner and go elsewhere for dinner. One day they may get the message that they cannot survive on the view alone. See my review on La Dome, Screaming Eagle, Chalet Suisse and Scala and you will see that this is the only bad review in our whole week of eating in Aruba.
We will be back to Aruba but we will not be back to this place.

Visit the lighthouse for the sunset view, then go to a different restaurant to eat. This is the second time we have been disappointed here. It was good several years ago but has gone downhill.

My wife had the linguine with small clams that turned out to be driedout pasta and rubbery large clams. When she complained, it was quickly replaced with their signature fettucine which was good.

Our friend had a piece of lasagna that was very light on the cheeses and rather small for the outrageous price. My Osso Bucco was edible but on the dry side with not too flavorful of a sauce.

The rest of our party seemed satisfied but the prices were disproportionate to the service or portions. We will not be back. There are so many other great restaurants in Aruba, this place suffers by comparison.

The consensus is to go there for the view not the food. I could not get away from the unpleasant order of horse manure. We finally requested a table inside. It was not much better. I also had the risotto...I can cook better than that.

I would have to agree with most reviews that the food isn't the best, but you really can't beat the location and view. The sunset is the best from this location, and everyone goes crazy with the cameras when it is finally setting. Request an outdoor table furthest west on the porch if you can handle the wind and you will surely enjoy the atmosphere. Again I wish I had better things to say about the food, but it really wasn't GREAT. The food is good, but not $25-$40 per plate good.

As a chef it is hard to eat out with friends - so I take my cooking skills and leave them at home - well, sometimes. This place had great potential and it started ok - a little pricey! BUT when the menu says risotto and you bet uncle bens rice it is a little unwise. While my friends all were very happy - I bit my tongue and said nothing until we got in the car and my wife knew I had something on my mind - so if you go - the view is great the food ok - but the risotto - is uncle bens!

The view and location is what I paid for at this resturant! I took my mom here this past Mother's Day which feel during our vacation and the food wasnt the greatest! I have had better Italian food at the Olive Garden but the sunset and ocean view from the cliff was lovely.
