Gianni's Ristorante Italiano

I have to say "after reading most current reviews I am worried". We go to Aruba with a large group every year. Gianni's has always been a night out that we look forward too. I have read all of the reviews and can only give my perspectives. I want to start by saying I consider myself a "Foodie". I love going out to experience nice restaurants. I have 100's of dining experiences to compare this restaurant against. I will also hit on some of the other reviews.

Food- For us has always been very good. Big menu, decent presentation and large portions. ( I hope this hasn't changed.)

Atmosphere- Everyone is right. IT IS LOUD ! They have a very large seating capacity.

Service- We always go with a big group. Never have left complaining. Servers always seem attentive and friendly.

Speed - Hello !!!! Nothing in Aruba moves fast. Just keep in the back of your mind it's 85 degrees and your in paradise. But plan for delays.

Value- It's Aruba.... A couple should being $100 bill if your going to have a full meal. $150 with a bottle of wine. Keep in mind Taco Bell will set you back $25 on the island.

Overall - Gianni's has been great. We will be brave and try again this year even with the recent terrible reviews. If we feel things have changed I will repost. We will be there next week. I just hope like so many restaurants, Gianni's isn't living off past reputations and now has gone down hill.

I do not understand all the bad reviews for Gianni's. I can't imagine what these people expect. We have eaten at Gianni's at least 15 times over the years and we ate there again on Tuesday Feb 10, 2015. We had a 7:30 reservation and were brought to our table immediately upon arrival. We were greeted at our table by our waiter less than one minute after sitting down. The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable in all aspects of the restaurant. The food was excellent and was very warm when served. We almost stayed away from Gianni's this visit because of all the bad reviews I've read but I can say these people who give Gianni's bad reviews are not reviewing the same Gianni's I frequent and will continue to frequent in future trips to Aruba.

we have ate here the last 5 years,this year was our last,boy have things changed when you order chicken parmasgna and the waiter says do you want that with a bone or boneless,you begin to say what,and he says we use the shoulder meat,high priced low quality

For the past two previous years my husband, and friends have gone to Gianni's restaurant, food was awful but certainly not the best. This year our friends wanted to eat there....Well, never before was I as upset as I was today. We ordered Chicken Parm. Which is supposed to be filleted. We were given a chicken leg posing as such. When I questioned the manager and was annoyed at the slop we were served, he in his exact words told us "our headquarters is sending poor quality meat"....Poor? It was a Chicken Leg not A Chicken Parm dinner. As for me and mine, they should NOT be in the restaurant business.

Gianni’s is just another “tourist factory” in Aruba serving lousy food and small portions for for big $$$. Most of the reviews here are accurate. Most of the restaurant inflation in Aruba is driven by New Yorkers (myself included) who are used to paying $50+ for an entrée & everything else is ala carte. If you’re from the Midwest, you are going to find Gianni's and most restaurants on the island a very poor value.

I still can't believe some of the great reviews the place gives. We tried this place twice and it was very bad each time. (would not have gone back the second time except I was out voted by our group.(they were not with me the first time)The food was ok but not top of the line like the prices suggest. Service terrible both times.

Though we were on an "all inclusive" vacation we ventured out on night to Gianni's and what a meal. It was recommended by my daughter who when in Aruba stays on the high rise side and has eaten at Gianni's a couple of times. She was with us and was nervous knowing she recommended it to our group not knowing if we would like it. Well all seven of us thought Gianni's was GREAT. The food and service was great and sitting outside was a great experience. Though I go on "all inclusive" vacations when in Aruba I will definitely go to Gianni's when I get back to Aruba.

We have been going to Gianni's for the past 4-5 years and every time the food and service has been excellent. I've heard different things from friends who have gone but we have never had one complaint. Appetizers are wonderful.
the lobsters and seafood are always fresh. Can't wait to go back in 2 weeks.

Some new acquaintances had recommended this place but it was awful. I had the seafood marinara special. The seafood tasted bad, particularly the mussels and clams. The calamari was the toughest I have ever eaten. The pasta was ok but the sauce was disappointing.i had the arugula salad that was also disappointing. The tomatoes were tasteless, the baby arugula tough and not very tasty. Garlic bread was dry and bland. The service was slow and in attentive. The music was a violinist who played tacky tunes with canned background/rhythm. A shame, since this was my last night in Aruba and it followed on the heels of a fabulous steak and meal at El Gaucho. What a let down.

Best food, service, atmosphere - reasonable prices. Owner and staff friendly and inviting. Delicious food, many choices. We ate there 3 out of 7 nights and were never disappointed. Hi to Nathalie (Owner) and Gregory (waiter). A MUST!!!
