Worst on the island

Jun 13, 2013 - posted by
What can i say but service was extremely slow. Took 20 min just to give our order to the waiter who was rude and very short with us. Food was poor as well. Not worth the cost. No one offered refills on our pop . Staff mostly stood at spoke to one another. First place I have ever been I wasn't offered to see the desserts. Like I said staff didn't want to be bothered. Loud place and could hardly her each other. Avoid this place at all costs not worth your time or money.

Service was poor, restaurant is much too large to do a good job. Food was very bland, our 4 meals were all tasteless. Acoustics in the building were awful! It looks nice from the street, but it's a total disappointment!

The Best Italian Food in Aruba

Apr 26, 2013 - posted by

I recently visited Gianni's Restaurant on April 25th.
This restaurant is located on a busy main street, centrally located in the high rise area of Oranjestad.

My brother and I didnt have a reservation, but where pleasantly surprised how quickly we were seated.
The waiting area boasts outside comfortable chairs and a nice atmosphere.

I had Caesars salad as my appetizer and Chicken Parmesan as the main course, to which both were outstanding.
My brother had a Caesars salad as well and a Vegetable and Pasta dish, which were delicious.

The outside atomsphere at this restuarant is somewhat loud but only because as it's a rather large, busy restaurant.

You couldnt ask for a more tentative waitstaff.
From the hostess to the waiters..They were very tentative and extremely proffesional and very friendly.

We will definitely visit Gianni's when we visit Aruba again.
We highly recommend Gianni's..You won't be disappointed.

Good Italian Dining

Family really enjoyed this place. Wife and mother-in-law ordered the Parmesan wheel pasta which they loved. I had the Linguini Frutti di Mare, which was mostly excellent with huge tasty shrimp and mussels...only knocks on the dish was that the calamari was a bit chewy and an unopened clam made it's way past the kitchen which could have been a potential disaster if consumed. The waiter said he would take care of it but never did. Anyway, the rest of the meal was great, outside dining was a treat and the violin player was very good. We'll be back!

Worst food in Aruba

My wife and I have come here a combined 12 times and have never had food this bad. The chicken parmigiana was so tough I had trouble cutting it with the knife. The braised beef dish was the worst version of beef stroganoff I have ever seen. Save yourself a 120.00 and skip it.

Good afternoon. My wife and I were having lunch in your new Gelatisimo. The ice cream looks very attractive and the place looks clean and beautifull, but the service from your staff was below our standards. They were talking in the back very bad about the customers like the dutch are very cheap, they were talking about Colombian and Venezuelan ladies in a very rud way. And we could hear everything.the person who was very gentle and soft was William the young cuban waiter. This is the reason why I think of not coming back. Please educate your staff and let them be friendly and not discriminating and damage your beautifull business.
Greetings,

Yum, Yum, Yum! Expensive but the best meal we have had in Aruba (including El Gaucho!) . Marilynn and I went to dinner Sunday of our first week in Aruba this year. I had the Chicken Parmesan and Marilynn had the Sea Food Fretti (sorry for misspelled (Fretti) word) and they were to die for! We had a bin 337 (Lodi Cab) wine (45.00) that was a bit over priced but again to die for and an excellent complement to the dinner. We had excellent service and recommendations. Tonight is Saturday and we are going back! Home on Monday (so sad).

Bill is not itemized

May 19, 2012 - posted by
Just got back from beautiful Aruba. We were looking forward to our meal here and left with a very poor experience. Our meal was fine - my husband really liked his but my sister and I only liked ours. The service was uneven. Watching the table side house specialty spaghetti parmesan should have been entertaining but one waiter talked to two other workers while making the dish instead of focusing on the food and the diners. The absolutely galling part is the bill - it is not itemized and it was clear if a service charge had been included. The menu mentioned the service charge but the bill was confusing. There was a tipping guide listed. So we asked our waiter about it and he was vague about the while thing also and becoming less fluent in English. A bill needs to be itemized - the service charge must be clearly stated so we can decide ourselves if more tip should be included. We know that the service charge is spread out among the entire staff of the restaurant and maybe a wait staff person deserves a little more, but this deceptive billing practice ruined our meal and insulted our patronage.
