I have to say that I've read some of these reviews and I just don't get it! My wife and I dined at Gianni's
and we thought it was fabulous, the owners are Napolitano (the best food in all of Italy) the buffalino Mozzarella is flown in from Naples, I asked to taste the Marinara before ordering anything and it wa fabulous true Napolitano Marinara, we had to try the signature dish as an appetizer Spaghetti Formaggio
in which the melt the Parmeggiano Reggiano cheese w/whiskey and add the spaghetti and mix it in the wheel,, Delicioso! We also ate at Madame Janette's
But being Napolitano myself,my heart and my palate
would have to say that Gianni's is the best restaurant on the Island, I know it's almost as good as Naples and the taste of Italy is still on my mind as we were there in october. I also thought the service was incredible very attentive and it was extremely busy,we go to dine no need to rush the Casinos will be there when Dinner is done, dining with loved ones is Paradiso, Daniel the owners Son was very attentive as well, Bravo Daniel.

Although I find the food to be great this restaurant manages to make what should be a pleasant experience anything but. For 3 consecutive dining catastrophies they managed to lose my reservation (large parties) which is always made by the concierge at Marriott. The service is also terrible, however the food is superb.

We just got back from our annual two week stay in Aruba. In the past Gianni's was at the top of our list, I am afraid to say, we had a poor experience on this last trip. Our first time there this trip was 12/24, we had confirmed reservations, but when we got there, they did not have the reservation, they ended up putting us in Daniel's with Gianni's menu. There menu has changed since last year, but was good. They did not have a dessert selection other than ice cream this night. Our second time was going to be 12/31. We had a 9:30 reservation for 9 people this time. When we arrived, they had not yet sat people with 8:00 reservations, there was absolute chaos and it was horrible. The hostess, was just running around saying no tables, no tables...Aparently this is not the first New Years that this has happened. We stood in line at the hostess stand for over 45 minutes, by this time, others in our party found Cafe Rembrant to keep the kitchen open and accomodate our large party on late notice. Gianni's is off the list.

The service as noted by other reviewers was terrible. I think our waiter left and didn't tell anyone we were there. The food was very good. My wife had a pasta dish, I had polenta and shrimp, my son had shrimp scampi. The shrimp and sauces were good. The pasta was cooked al dente and the polenta was creamy and tasty. But the service ruined my dinner. I will not return.

Terrible service...told I needed an 8:30 reservation, instead of the 7:30 I requested. I got there and it was half empty; waited a half hour for our appetizers, which came 5 minutes apart, with out dishes to serve them into. Had to ask for cheese with the pastas. Ordered an espresso with dessert that never came and my wife ordered a decaf coffee and they came back and asked if she ordered a cappaccino. Waiter was apologetic, gave us free after dinner drjnks, but with a $200 bill for 2 adults and 2 kids, I won't go back.

First time diners, Nov. 08. Service not at all up to par for upscale restaurant. Did not have reservation and were seated promptly by unfriendly hostess. In the first 10 minutes, at least 4 wait staff told us they were our waiter. Had to ask for water, bread and to order. Water glass never filled nor were wine glasses (we ordered an expensive bottle). My husb and ordered the octupus dish and he loved it - my veal w/whiskey was also very good. Waited 30 minutes after asking for check - then the water started to pour out of the ladies room and was about to cover our feet - spoke to male owner and told him wait staff are stumbling over each other and not doing anything! After check finally came, waited another 20 minutes for them to return credit card. Altho food is good will not return because of wait staff!

Go to Aruba every year in November for two weeks. Discovered Gianni's last year and am looking forward to going next week. Actually, once we discovered Gianni's we went back several times for dinner. Twice we just ordered appetizers; cesar salad and eggplant parm. Excellent!
Read some of the reviews and cannot believe the disappointments. That's a shame.
