We ate there on 09/12. Service was nice and friendly. Food was rather bland and expensive for what you got. Even though it was a slow night and many empty tables, we were told that since we were a party of 2 we couldn't be seated at one of the tables on the covered patio - there had to be over a dozen empty tables there and it never got busy. At the end of the evening, a woman who worked there but had no prior interaction with us came over to tell us that if we liked our server we needed to tip over and above the 15% service charge they had already put on our bill since all of this went to the establishment to cover for breakage and other costs of a restaurant doing business - none to the server! We did like our server and had planned on adding to the service charge anyway but I couldn't believe the nerve of this woman telling us that we needed to supplement the cost of this mediocre restaurant to do regular business - yes breakage is part of the cost calculated into a restaurant doing business! I was angry that we actually did leave additional money and am convinced that this woman was full of crap. Would not recommend nor go back ever.

Gianni's was a great find. We arrived around 7 pm without a reservation and we had no trouble being seated. The family next to us told us we would love the food. They said it was their new favorite restaurant in Aruba. They were right! The food was excellent. The atmostphere was pleasant. The service was a little slow but who's in a hurray on vacation!

The pasta is great, just like in Italy and even al dente. Only the service is too fast. The food was on the table before we got the wine, so we canceled the bottle and got drinks somewhere else.

Gianni's was great.

When you all just accept the PACE on the island - which INCLUDES the service at almost all of the restaurants there (slow) - then your overall dining experience will be elevated. ~Just sayin'~

We just got back from our wedding/honeymoon trip (2 weeks - 2nd time to Aruba) and I really can think of only one dinner which had service comparable to the States.

Watch your bill at this restaurant!! They tried to overcharge us $28.00, wich seems to be a theme on the island of Aruba. The food was great, but I will not eat at a place that steals from there customers.

Gianni's is great. You can see by the number of people there both seated and waiting in line. He is a little secret. Next door to Dianni's is Daniel's Steak House. They share the same kitchen and cooks as Gianni's. If you go to Daniels you can request a Gianni's menu. They will bring the same food to your table. Sure beats standing in line waiting for a table.

Enjoy your meal.
