We had visited this restaurant on our last visit to aruba on the request of our traveling partners.
I'm amazed at the really good reviews the place gets, which is probably why our friends wanted to try it.
The food is average at best and the prices are ridicules.
We were seated quickly but the rest of the service was slow. (I wish Jose was available when we were there based on the reviews)
I liked the cheese wheel, but not worth the price and wait.

For the most part, Gianni's food is pretty good....but some is way over priced. My husband and brother-in-law shared red snapper--which was a special of the day. It was $70 for the two -- and they each basically got a small filet from the fish. If you're going -- get the pasta cooked in the cheese wheel. That is unique and delicious.
Secondly, our waiter did not like that we did not add any additional gratuity to our check. The restaurant automatically adds a 15% service charge -- and we felt this adequate. He felt the need to tell us he gets nothing of that 15% .... which is hard to believe. I understand it is shared among the waiters, busboys, etc -- but for him to say he gets nothing is a lie. I was very surprised when he returned once we had paid to tell us that. Very unprofessional.

Had to try Gianni's after hearing it was related to our favorite Sole Mare. The menu was similar but it lacked the great personal service of SM. We had so many different wait people attending our table, it felt as we were being passed off..it was not even a crowded night. The food was not great either. My daughter and I had the Lobster over spaghetti, one of the house specialties, it was disappointing, not much lobster at all. My husband had the fresh local octopus over linguine, interesting but good. The outdoor seating was nice, the best part of the evening was being serenaded by a wonderful violinist. The Caramel Flan and Affogatto (espresso over vanilla ice cream) was a good way to end a not so great meal. Not sure we will go back again.

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon 4 days ago. It was our 1st time in aruba. We walked by Gianni's a few times & decided to go in one night for dinner. Atmosphere very nice & beautiful decor. You can eat inside or outside. We decided inside since it was air conditioned. We were seated promptly & greeted right away. Our waiter JOSE could not have been any better! He was fantastic! He was very attentive, friendly & efficient!! He recomended perfect dishes to my husband which he loved! Food was great!!! We were so pleased with the food and service we went back for dinner a 2nd time a few days later! We asked if Jose was working & luckily for us, he was! We sat in his section again and got the same treatment if not better! We would defanitely recommend this resturant! & If you go, try to be waited on by Jose...you will not be disappointed! :)

First time visiting Aruba first restaurant visited Gianni’s mmmmmmm mmmmm gooood
As soon as we said down our tall cute waiter Ryan introduced himself and his busgirl Gicelle very nice restaurant and friendly staff. manager checks if everything is ok while she didn’t even had to ask. we wanted to try everything cause everything seemed good so we let our waiter pick for us it was good from the beginning till the end. We had mussels for appetizers my husband and I had each a gigantic lobster which our waiter picked. each lobster was differently prepared one of them grilled and the other out of the shell in a creamy sauce (house special prep) . At the end with a SALAMI a desert prepared by the owner himself what my waiter told me he even guessed we were on our honeymoon he was very nice of giving us a glass of champagne for our celebration.

No way this restaurant is even close to what others have reviewed. It is a very solid Italian restaurant. Artichoke appetizer was almost on par with the homemade ones I've eaten for years. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Bolognese Sauce (gravy) was different, but very good nonetheless. Salami dessert was terrific, nothing better than hearing my wife say she wants the salami!!! Waiter had to walk away we laughed so hard. Waiter was new and terrific, attentive and friendly. Felt like he was our own personal waiter, but not overbearing at all. Actually asked to speak to his supervisor and let her know as to how good he was (jOSE). I would not listen to the negative reviews here, place was on par with the better restaurants on the island.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Gianni's. It was our first time there and it certainly will not be our last! We have been to many restaurants in Aruba and can say that Gianni's is now our favorite. We arrived around 7:30 without reservations and after a short wait at the bar (enjoying some ice cold Balashi) were seated inside. The ambiance, the service, the presentation and the food were all outstanding. The waiters were pleasant, knowledgable and attentive. If you are in Aruba and looking for an evening of fine dining, I would highly recommend Gianni's
