An excellent restaurant!

Feb 6, 2014 - posted by
This was our first chance to dine at Gostoso's. We each had fillet of Grouper which was excellent. The fish was fresh, served piping hot, and beautifully presented, along with delicious sides. The portions were plentiful. The desserts were also wonderful. The service was outstanding. We had a chance to chat with Jose, the owner/chef, and found him to be very passionate and devoted to giving his patrons an exceptional culinary experience. We cannot wait to return!

Best Place in Aruba

Jan 31, 2014 - posted by
Hard to Find. Well worth it. Get a couple of business cards and use with your driver on the next trip! Fifth time in 5 visits to Aruba. Jose is a gem. On a slow night, you have the opportunity to talk to him and get some of the background of the place. Kim absolutely loves the Goat Stew and counts the days and hours until she can have it. I had the Carbonara and our Aruban friend had the Tempura. All were wonderful. Jose, we will be back again and again. Don't change.

Not the 6th best on the island

Dec 30, 2013 - posted by
We tried this restaurant due to its ranking on the Top 10 Fine Dining list. Personally, I don't think it is worthy of the rating of 6th best on the Island. There are way better restaurants.
Service was just so-so. Had to ask twice for drink refills. Kids menu was well suited for kids but not the highest quality food. My wife has the snapper and said it was good. I had the filet and it wasn't great. If eating outside bring bug spray but that's common on the island. Would probably not come back.

Hidden Gem

Dec 4, 2013 - posted by
We ate at Gostoso in April and loved it, had never heard of it before. Loved it so much we went back on our recent trip last week. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is very small, and a little difficult to find if you're not familiar with the island, but totally worth it. The owner came to the table and explained the menu and the specials. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. I had the sea bass with passion fruit sauce, it was fantastic, I wanted to lick the plate! My husband had the beef tenderloins "Italian style" and said they were excellent and perfectly cooked. They do have a kids' menu as well, our daughter said the chicken fingers were very good. Make reservations, as there are maybe only 10 tables and it's getting more well-known now. We will definitely go back on our next trip.

Delicious food, in a very welcoming atmosphere. Not easy to find, but worth it! Jose, the owner, is charming and friendly, welcoming and a great guide to the menu.
I cannot wait to come back and to recommend Gostoso to friend who may be traveling to Aruba.

Twice Blessed

So incredible we went there for 2 nights in a row including our last night. Jose is an incredible host with amazing culinary skills.Wife had the Seafood platter with coconut curry sause. I needed a Meat break so I opted for a rib eye. It was excellent. The place is small so we could hear all the raves from the other patrons. This place is a hidden gem, if you need directions just ask!

Return Trip to a Great Restaurant

Aug 12, 2013 - posted by
We had the pleasure to return to this great restaurant on July 25th during our yearly jaunt down to the island. As ususal, Jose welcomed us back with a hearty greeting and even though we didn't have a reservation, he seated us immediately. Upon selection of a wine, Jose informed us that he didn't have the selected wine and took the time to tell us about a Portueges wine which was lovely. We normally get the "sushi" and this year was no different and it was delicious. My wife had the goat stew which was very tender and a good portion. I selected the grouper with a lime and butter sauce which was wonderful. We ended up splitting an order of the tres leche cake which is a must if you are going to try this restaurant. Another great year and good food at Gotoso and looking forward to our return next year!

Nice find

First time trying this restaurant. We really enjoyed our dinner. We had the Stuffed Avocado Bacalhau Vinaigrette, which was very good. Then we had snapper and grouper, one with passion fruit sauce and one with mango sauce. Both dishes were great. The only bad point was we were the only one in the restaurant. I definitely recommenced trying this restaurant.
