second trip to the island, first visit here.....sat outside on a not-so-busy Thursday, and were treated very well by the staff......we all had pasta (fusilli, spaghetti, lasanga), and aside from the spaghetti being just a bit undercooked for my daughter (I tried it, and thought it was OK), we were all quite pleased.....the sauces were all different, and each was done quite nicely

we will definitely go back next time!

This used to be one of our favorites a few years ago. They were great in every category.
They have definitely slipped. We gave them another chance, but In 2006 we decided not to return again. Overpriced, service is sometimes good, sometimes not; same for the food and the portions. The people in charge of reservations and greetings at the door need lessons in hospitality!

We just came back from Aruba and LOVE this restaurant (we went twice in one week). We are picky eaters and cannot find a bad word about the service, food, atmosphere and overall experience. We cant wait to go back to aruba and eat there again!

My wife & I visited this superb restaurant 2 times. Our appys were salad and atichoke hearts. Both were very good. Our entrees were lasagne and fussili bolgnaese. The meat sauce is awesome! The coffee was a little strong but good. The anisette tasted a little off the first time we were there so I ordered the sambucca the second time with my expresso. Portions are generous. I highly recommend this Italian restaurant!!

I went to Aruba in December 2006 for vacation and me and my girlfriend went to Hostaria. Frankly, this is the BEST restaurant on the island, hands down. The staff was awesome, food was awesome, service was awesome. We had the Filleto in Crosta. It came exactly the way wanted it, juicy, tender and very tasty. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a must go to place when you visit Aruba.

A cab driver recommended Hostaria, so we made reservations before reading the mixed reviews on this site. Since we have not found a really good Italian restaurant on the island after several trips here, we thought we would give it a try anyway.

The service was efficient and friendly, even though we did not order drinks before dinner. My wife had Vitello Limon and I had Vitello Parmigiana. The entrees were very good. The veal in lemon sauce were very thinly cut scallopini, nicely sauteed and presented. The Parmisian was a bone-in, breaded cutlet, fried and covered with marinara and cheese. Both were very tasty. We ordered a side of pasta. The pasta was a little too al dente and could have stayed in the pot a couple more minutes, but the sauce was good.

The portions were quite ample and we didn't have room for dessert. The price was a little higher than some meals we've had here, but not unreasonable by US, big city standards.

Overall, this was the best Italian food we've had here and if you want Italian, I'd recommend it. Its definitely a cut above chain Italian in the US, but not as good as some family owned local places that I've enjoyed on the East Coast of the US or in San Francisco.

THIS WAS THE WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE BEEN TO IN ARUBA. STARTED OFF WITH WINE THAT TOOK 20 MINUTES TO RECEIVE. WE HAD TO ORDER DINNER BEFORE OUR WINE ARRIVED. ORDERED GNOCCHI AND FRIED CALAMARI AS APPITIZERS. CALAMARI WAS BIG PIECES, THEY WERE TENDER, GNOCCHI WAS OK. SERVICE WAS NOT GOOD, THE WAITER WAS NOT FRINDLEY. ORDERED A PORK CHOP(WHICH WE HAVE GOTTEN HERE BEFORE) WAS NOT A PORK CHOP BUT A TINY LITTLE PORK CUTLET. THE GROUPER WAS HORRIBLE(IF IT WAS GROUPER) THE TEXTURE WAS WAY OFF AND TASTED BAD. THE WHOLE RED SNAPPER BAKED IN SEA SALT WAS NOT BAD. THE OVERALL EXPEIANCE WAS NOT GOOD, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICES THEY CHARGE. TOTAL FOR 4 PEOPLE 2 BOTTLES OF WINE, 2 APPITZERS, 3 DINNERS(SENT THE GROUPER BACK) $218.00

We dined at this restaurant a few days ago. There were 8 adults in our group and all were pleased with the meal, service, and deserts. We found the wait staff to be friendly and on top of things. As another review mentioned my wife and I were going to split a salad and it was brought out on two plates. I will recommend this restaurant to friends and will eat there again next time in Aruba.

Delicious food - a bit expensive but par for the course on the island. We had reservations and had to wait about 15 minutes which was fine - except there seemed to be plenty of tables. We ate outside which was nice. Out server was very pleasant. Food took a little longer than expected but we were not in a rush. I ordered a salad and planned to split with my husband...server overheard & brought it out to us on 2 plates which was very considerate. So if you are not in a huge hurry this is a good place - good food & atmosphere, decent wine list with several reasonable priced bottles. Recommended.

This was our most disappointing dining experience in Aruba. I'm not sure why, but our waitress was VERY rude and unattentive to us, but we noticed she was completely the opposite w/ all her other tables near us. We think it was due to our age, that we seemed to be younger than most of the other diners. My boyfriend ordered a pina colada and she asked him if he wanted it virgin. My pasta was almost crunchy, that's how under-done it was, so I ended up sharing my boyfriend's veal parm. He ordered a glass of port wine for with his coffee and I think she thought he was joking b/c she did not bring it. He had to go to the bar to ask them for it. If the 15% gratuity wasn't included in the bill, she would've gotten nothing.
