We are in Aruba as I write this review and ate here last night with our 8 yr old. Everything was excellent from the service to the food. They were child friendly and I am very surprised to read the poor reviews. They recommended half dish portions for our child, we all took home doggy bags as well. The portions were oversized, the pasta dishes were excellent. My wife and I thought it was as good as the restuarants we frequent in Little Italy in NYC. I can't explain why the other bad reviews, but we are going back tomorrow night! If things change for the worst, I will let you all know.

Last year this was one of our favorite restaurants...this year it slipped a few notches. Service was not friendly, we were rushed to order. When my wife asked for a pasta recommendation the server said that this is the best italian food on the island- all the pasta is great. Very helpfull. Not very kid friendly either. Food is very good, but undersized and overpriced. Desserts were not that enticing either. Will give it another try next year, as last year we had great service.

What seemed to be the perfect restaurant turned out to be the worst place we visited while staying on a perfect island. Even though the food was not bad, we payed a lot more than what the meal was worth. Mostly the service was horrible. The owner introduced himself to us but soon after turned out to be a very rude man and completely ripped off the party I was with. Honestly I would not recommend this place to anyone, with a large party or a family with children. There are better places on the island to enjoy good food.

My girlfriend and I ate at this restaurant a few days ago...(the 2nd to last dinner of our vacation). we enjoyed it very much....we ate outside, which was a little windy but didn't bother me...very romantic, wouldn't take any children to the outside seating, but there were children inside. Good service..We shared a bottle of wine...shared baked eggplant and artichoke for appetizer...we both had great pasta dishes. Didn't have dessert, nothing looked too astonishing. Overall great Italian restaurant will go back again!

My family and I have been in the past and loved it but this trip we were extremely disappointed. NOT kid friendly at all. No one was unkind but it just wasn't kid friendly. Ordered a suggested wine that was VERY oaky, yuck. Ordered fillet wrapped and baked in puff pastry and got a fillet with a pastry cracker on top, ordered it medium rare and it was over-cooked. My husband was equally disappointed in the wine and his meal. My teenagers liked their pizza which was good since we paid out the nose for it. There was nothing much to choose from for my younger ones so they ate off our plates and mostly cried, which is what I wanted to do. Won't go back.

This is the first restaurant we went to after arriving here and I have to say we got off to a bad start. Everything about this place seemed great at first. The owner even came over to us as we were seated and gave us this big speech about himself and how he has dealt with many Indians (I am Indian by the way) before and he knows what we like. We then ordered our food but everything was basically to share since it was so expensive. We ordered 1 appetizer, he charged us for 4 of the same appetizer, 2 people from our party asked to share one of the fish dishes, so they bring out 2 plates of the fish. When they brought those 2 plates out we specifically said wait they asked to share so we're not gonna get charged for 2 fish right. The owner himself brought it out and he said yeah its just that the fish is so small we brought out 2. Then later we got the bill and saw he charged us twice for it, and when we went to complain he gave us an attitude and said it is to late. Since we didn't want to get into this big thing for $36 we decided to forget about. So we just paid and left. Bottom line, we got treated poorly by the actual owner of the place and we got played. Also, for the amount you pay you really don't get much food. Only plus was that the food was pretty good. Still, I don't recommend it to anyone.

Hostaria was a great choice for our last night in Aruba. I had the rack of lamb and my wife had the lobster special and they were both outstanding. I don't how people can compare this place to an Olive Garden!! I live in NY and eat out a majority of the time and this place is up there with the best. Highly recommend it.

A very elegant restaurant with superb ambiance. Truly gourmet "top drawer" Italian food presented to the best extreme. If you love Fried Calamari this is the place to go. The Carpaccio was also excellent. We experienced an elegant evening with excellent attentive service. They offer an extensive authentic "old world" Italian menu that offers everything from scrumptious Marinated Baby Artichokes to the simplicity of delicious Pizza. The Tirimisu finished our dining pleasure with the best on the island. Also. the wine selections made by the Maitre'd were perfect. A wonderful Italian restaurant to visit on vacation. We recommend it highly.
