Lovely evening at Ike’s!

My husband and I dined at Ike’s Bistro Jan. 9th, 2019. Our waitress, Analibia, made sure we were well taken care of the entire meal. She was a joy! The grouper and red snapper we enjoyed for our entrees were amazing. We would definitely return to this restaurant!!

One of My New Favorite Places!

Apr 11, 2014 - posted by
There were six of us who who went for dinner and most of us ordered different items. Each and everyone one of us loved our meals. I started with the ceviche & avocado salad that was devine and then had seabass that was out of this world. My husband had the Argentine steak and it was so tender and delicious. We sat by the pool listening to music and having one of the best meals on our trip!

CONFUSED

Mar 25, 2014 - posted by
We had heard a great deal about IKE'S over the last year or so and were determined to try it this year as a potentially new place to frequent and we went to substantial efforts to do so which included shuffling schedules several times. We had never eaten in the Manchebo Beach complex and were delighted to have the opportunity to do so. Upon arrival we were quite pleased with the setting and managed to get seated by the pool - we personally have mixed feelings about eating beside a pool but the recommendations were to do so for this place so we sucked it up and did so. All-in-all poolside seating here is not all that necessary to enjoying the place. We were also a bit excited by having looked at the menu previously and set about to indulge in what we thought would be an enjoyable meal. As usual one of us orders a fish meal and the other lamb, if available. Appetizers were generally good and a bit unique which was nice to see and a gazpacho amuse was also enjoyed. The entrees were brought and the fish meal was adequately done though a bit on the rare side - we forgot to tell them that we prefer the type of fish cooked a bit more so we did not make an issue of it. The lamb meal arrived extremely well done contrary to a request for a pink center, the center here was essentially charcoal. We hemmed and hawed over the meal a bit and decided to send the lamb back - it was inedible. So that left the other party to consume the fish meal and it was OK but we did not enjoy the experience of having to eat separately. Eventually the lamb dish was presented and, again, the lamb was well done, but not as badly as the first time and it was edible so we decided to cut our losses and the lamb eater consumed the lamb. We are convinced beyond a doubt that the chef here does not know how to cook lamb (not only was it overcooked but it was also poorly seasoned and the portion was half of what is offered in other places for a comparable price) and we would discourage anyone from ordering it here - stick with the other entrees. Desserts were also a mixed bag - nutella parfait was lacking but the orange catalan was quite good. The overall experience was not an especially good one and we are debating whether to return next year to two fish entrees to give the chef a chance to prove himself. Service was excellent and the setting and ambiance were good. We have mixed feelings about recommending the place and will reserve doing so pending the eventuality and outcome of another visit.

Went to Ike's Bistro on 2/18/14 based on reviews. The food was OK in my opinion, but far from great. There is definitely better in Aruba...

Wow

Wow. Did I say wow? Read some reviews and decided to toss it into our restaurant rotation (compiled over 15 years). Even the fresh baked bread is wonderful...fish so fresh you'll swear the boat is behind the kitchen with the fisherman catching your dinner. Not to be missed...pasta clearly made fresh on premises and don't miss out on the excellent service we received!! We will be back from now on!

Since we both enjoyed Ike's Bistro last week, we decided to do it again. I had the creamy seafood chowder to start. DW had Shrimp with a risotto and I had the Filet Mignon. Price was $100.85, which included 2 drinks, 2 glasses of wine, 15% Svc Chg, extra tip, and 2 free wine coupons.

We tried Ike's Bistro at Manchebo for the 1st time & really enjoyed it. DW had a shrimp casserole with potatoes & I had the Land & Sea (small Filet Mignon with 4 large shrimp). Price was $97.58, which included 2 drinks, 2 glasses of wine, 15% Svc Chg, extra tip, and a $7 wine coupon. Very nice setting with outside tables by the pool.

SLOW

Sep 23, 2013 - posted by
My friend and I came here last night and was somewhat disappointed. The atmosphere is very nice sitting outside by the pool and food was good but not great. The service is very slow and we waited a long time to get our meals. Waiting almost an hour to get entrees is too long for me considering the restaurant was half empty. My friend had the swordfish special and I had the Seafood Paella. If you ever ordered Paella you will know what it looks like. The portions are small. Mine came with 3 shrimp, 2 mussels, 1 clam, I scallop and was brought in a small bowl. Are you serious? There are much better restaurants on the island. We won't be returning.

Great food!

The French Steakhouse is a favorite, but we had never eaten here before, which is literally steps away. A complimentary sampling of seafood chowder was a pleasant surprise. We had several who were friendly and attentive. My meal choice, ravioli filled with portobello mushroom was light and savory. My partner's catch of the day, red snapper, was delicious, too. We shared a dessert, Chocolate Temptation, which lived up to its name. We were not rushed at all, and dining poolside was lovely. We even had the opportunity to meet the chef and tell him how much we enjoyed our meals. It was a totally enjoyable experience.
