L.G. Smith's Steak & Chop House

We dined in this lovely restaurant in May of 2008 and could not have been happier! The staff was friendly and Rob was the best restaurant manager anyone could ask for. It was our anniversary and they treated us like royalty. We had called ahead and made arrangements and Rob de Bekker personally responded to my emails with a kind and friendly manner we don't often see from restaurants here. We had the Surf and Turf and it was the most wonderful I have ever had! The meat was done to perfection and the lobster was not overcooked and tender. For dessert we ordered 2 of their specialties, the marscapone tart and the sweetest taboo. They were outstanding and were specially made with an anniversary greeting on them! Please go here for a wonderful experience and friendly waiters and managers! They gave us casino vouchers for free play at the casino as an added and surprise bonus. Thanks so much Rob and you staff for making our anniversary wonderful!

This place is beautiful. We loved the design, actually the whole idea of the place. The service stood far back behind this impression, everything took forever, we sat two ours until the main courses finally arrived. The food was good though, we both had tenderloin which was grilled to the point. Bring some time and you will enjoy your evening.

Who cannot like this restaurant??? Maybe someone who likes their steak medium well, might be asking for troubl? This is one outstanding restaurant. Two perfect meals and the ribeye is awesome. Done rare, it is tender and juicy!! Can't wait to go back.

We dined here during our May 2008 Aruba vacation. We had purchased the Marriott's "Dinner for Two" voucher and were NOT disappointed. Appetizers, salads, entrees (porterhouse and lobster) and dessert were great! Even though gratuity was included in the voucher, we left a tip regardless. Two separate managers were mingling and speaking with patrons which was a very nice touch. The "Sweetest Taboo" dessert is a must do for chocolate lovers!

Nothing but great things to say about L.G. Smith's. Great atmosphere, trendy, Miami-South Beach feel to it. Excellent service - we asked that our meals be held back by the kitchen for a hlaf hour, as my fiancee and I both ordered soup and a salad, so we did not want to be rushed into dinner - and they humbly accomodated us. I had the Veal Chop, which was delicious and cooked to perfection. Soups were both excellent too. Extensive, and affordable, wine list. Nice views at night of the Marina and strip. Casino attached to restaurant so easy transition into the nightlife. We will definitely be back!

After reading glowing reviews, I expected to love LG's...but I didn't. After looking closely at other reviews, perhaps those of us using vouchers get poorer service? The restaurant is gorgeous. We waited awhile for salads, then had the plates yanked for our entrees. But neither of our steaks was done as ordered - in fact, my husband's medium-well was actually completely raw in the middle and had to be sent back. Our certificate included tax/gratuity and waiter tried to convince us it did not. In all, a disappointment, especially when others have raved.

We arrived 30 minutes early and were seated immediately. The staff is very friendly, pleasant, and professional. The Mgr will even visit your table to make sure you are satisfied with your meal and service. The food quality, presentation, atmosphere, and staff are top notch. You won't want to miss this restaurant. Thank you L.G. Smith's for a wonderful experience.

First, let me begin by stating I have never written a review of any kind in my life. Our dinner experience was so exceptional that I felt I owed it to the staff of L. G. Smith's to write one. We had a 4 year old and a 10 month old with us and since this was an adult only hotel, I assumed we could not dine there. I am glad I was wrong. Not to toot my own horn but I have dined in some fine restaurants and I have never experienced such inviting and professional service. Paris was comparable. The food was excellent which included appetizers, entrees, deserts and a solid wine list.
The children were so delighted they wanted to go back but we were leaving the next day. This restaurant should be on everyones list when dining in Aruba. Thank you L.G. Smith's and your staff. Job well done.

We loved it! We were in Aruba for our honeymoon and went to LG's, it was fabulous!!!!

There are many great places for steak on the island. There is only one place that is consistant and does it right every time. L.G.'s steaks are better than what is served in some of the best steakhouse's in the New York area. This place sets the standard for what service should be in any restaurant,they go beyond your expectations. My wife loves the view of the harbor at night.
