L.G. Smith's Steak & Chop House

Went to L.G. Smith's on the third night of our stay and had a wonderful, albeit expensive meal. We used the free parking across the street at the crystal casino. Inside L.G's the decor was very nice, and it actually looked fantastic once the sun went down. We had the calimari and seafood chowder as appetizers - chowder was just so so, the calimari was crispy and not chewy at all - excellent. The bread, breadsticks, butter and hummus were excellent - the breadsticks especially went well with the hummus (and I don't usually like hummus).

For entrees, my wife had the 16oz ribeye, and I had the Lobster Thermidor with rice and onion rings. Lobster was very good, wife's ribeye was excellent. We have half of it left in our fridge and will make a sandwich with it for lunch this week.

For dessert, we shared their special marscapone tart that others have mentioned - it was delicious. The manager recommended the proper way to eat it to marry all the tastes together, and following his instructions it was very delicious and not overly filling at all.

Overall a very good meal with some definite highlights. Service was attentive and professional. I would return here.

My wife and I come to Aruba every year, and every year we look forward to going to this restaurant. Quality of food and service is excellent. Much more upschale then normally expected in casual Aruba. I almost never eat desert, but always have desert here, even if it just for the presentation. I look forward to going again next year

My wife and I ate at LG Smith's 4 times in 7 nights and had just about everything on the menu. Food is exceptional and the service is just as good. Highly recommended! Also, the Surf and Turf is the way to go.

This is our third time at the restaurant and each time is better
than before. Atmosphere,service and our waiter Andre is superb,food is delicious.Highly recommend.

Visited the restaurant with my family and friends the 14th of February. LG Smiths presented a very special and delicious Valentine's Menu. The spice combinations were outstanding and the recommendation of the wine made the food taste complete. My parents were coming over from Holland for a holiday, they mentioned several times that they haven't had such good food since they were on the island. Waiters were very friendly, patient and courteous. It was a perfect evening and a great experience, will definately visit LG Smiths again!!

Having just returned from a follow-up visit to L. G. Smith's Steak & Chop House four months after my previous visit to Aruba, I again was pleasantly surprised at how food, atmosphere, service, presentation and menu selection were all TENS. The waiters know the menu and can assist in food selection. The steaks were cooked as ordered and the cuts and marbling was as it should be for quality beef. The side sauces and creamed spinach are a must. My wife is still raving about the lobster. As a comparison went to El Goucho, another well known steak house, that was noisy with children running around and wait staff rushing you through the meal. L.G.'s atmosphere is as it should be for fine dining.

My husband and I have been going to Aruba for years and a must restaurant on our list every year is L.G. Smith's. The atmosphere is wonderful, but the food is terrific. From the appetizers, to the steaks (which are always cooked to perfection) to the great selection of desserts, you must add this restaurant to your list. Look forward to going back in December and dining at this excellent restaurant.

The food is outstanding. Although certainly not my favorite restaurant because the environment was nothing special, the food is. We used a Marriott Dinner for 2 certificate and were given more food than anyone could eat. I had a crab cake to start which was good and my husband had the tuna sashimi, also good. Then a salad, also nice. The entrees were amazing. We both had the surf and turf. Not only was the steak the best I had eaten on the island, sauce was served on the side which is nice especially if you don’t like anything on your meat. Great creamed spinach and baked potato. The lobster was very moist, not dried out at all. We were so full we could not eat our desserts so the waiter let is take them home. Chocolate cake and cheesecake, just fair, but not bad. The cappuccino was not very good but again, the entrée was really fantastic.

It was a wonderfuf experiance my girlfriend said it was the best steak she has had on the island.

We also ate at L.G. this past weekend, and the food was fantastic! We are from the New York City area and this restaurant rivals some of the best NYC steakhouses! Our waiter, Andre was wonderful! All of the recommendations were outstanding and we are definitely looking forward to returning!!!
