We stayed for a week at the Renaissance Resort in Aruba in August 2005. First, we thought that US$ 3000 for one week all-inclusive (without the flight) was far to expensive... until we discovered L.G. Smith's restaurant which was included in our AI. It's one of the best steak houses I ever have been in my life, we had 5 dinners at this place.

My favorite: Potterhouse steack, medium

L.G. Smith is the only reason why I hope to return one day to Aruba...!

Don't miss it.

Went to quite some steakhouses on Aruba and visited this one before the Havana show in the Crystal theater. Maybe it was because we had a "show - diner" combination ticket, but we were not impressed with either (speed of) service or quality of the food. It was average, not better compared to other places we visited on Aruba. Prices were a little above avg, when looking at the menu.

Service started off good with the welcome and setup, but after that became slow and uninterested. Overall it was a nice evening, but certainly nothing special

Excellent food, excellent, service, excellent environment. My only word of caution would be for those not wanting an expensive meal, this is not the right place, the food is a little expensive.

If there is one thing that stuck out for us at our dinner, it was the service. We had a server named Andrey. Very warm, attentive, knowledgeable and charming, but not overbearing by any means. Asked to be seated in his section and you won't go wrong here.

Without a doubt, best restaurant on the island. The decor is contemporary, south beachy and romantic. All indoors, nice view. Service is impeccable and hard to find here in Aruba, where gratuity is added like a tax so no one works to impress you. If your lucky you might be greeted by Francois, he understands you've traveled a long way and you deserve a great dining experience. The menu is neat, organized and well-rounded. The food was portioned well, dressed appropriately and flavorful. We were treated with the mascarpone, mango dessert, it was a little piece of heaven. Wine list was thorough with something for everyone. In all, you should eat here. Believe me, fine dining is hard to find on this small island but at L.G.'s they're doing everything right.

What is everyone talking about? This is the worst steak my guest and I have ever had at a restaurant. Dry... chewy... It may be okay if it were steak you were cooking at home, but this is a steakhouse. The best part of the meal was the apple pie dessert.

We had dinner at L.G. Smith's on our last evening in Aruba. It was an outstanding experience. Our meal was perfect. Each of us had steaks, NY sirloin and rib eye, and they were cooked exactly as ordered. The wine list was impressive and we settled on an excellent Argentinian Malbec. Our waiter Geordino was attentive and knowledgeable but not at all obtrusive. Later in the evening, Francois, manager of sales and customer service, stopped by the table, just to make sure our expectations had been met. He recommended a couple of desserts and we ordered the creme brulee and it, too, was great. Thanks for a memorable night.

What a great place to eat the food is Fantastic! We went a couple of times & we couldn't get over all the changes from the food, menus, service, desserts, wine list & let's not forget the beautiful atmosphere. Our special thanks to John & Francois who makes sure that everyones needs are taking care of & folks even though it's busy the chief takes time to come out to greet you. We tryed different entrees, and were never disappointed, but leave room for dessert, because they have a mascarpone tart that is Amazing it's better than any dessert that we have ever had & if you blink you would think that you were in New York City, but better. Thank you L.G Smith we can't wait to go back.

We once more went to dinner at L.G. Smith's on our stay in Aruba this summer. As in the past we found the service, ambience, food, and choices to be excellent.

We have never been disappointed and, therefore, will continue to make it our number one dining choice on the island.

We had a great experience last week. Great steaks, great service! We were blown away by the excellent service of Waiter Andrey who recommended us a terrific Wente Wine. Definitely will come back when we visit Aruba again.
