I wish that I had read Larrys review below before I went to Le Petit Cafe. Not much has changed since His review in 08. Besides the person that sits you down...nobody smiles, looks you in the eye or manages to come back to ask you if you need anything. The portions are very small for the price. The cat is still there. For $31 you would think they could at least give you a salad since you get to cook your own food (on the stone) That is the only cool part about this resturant. In addition since they are one of the resturants on the High Rise Hotel Beach they charge the 15% service charge which according to them is not a tip. Stay away from this resturant unless you want to over pay for small portions and be treated rudely in the process. However, if that is how you want to spend a day of your vacation go for it.

The hostess who sat us was the only person who smiled the whole time we were there. She sat us at a nice table for 2 presented the menu and left. That was too bad as the rest of the evening went downhill very quickly. The server then came to the table and throws the bread basket down and left. No offer for drinks, a good evening, what the specials are, or even a friendly welcome. When the server finally came back I ordered a diet coke and a bottle of wine from the extensive list of (5). The server had no clue what a Pinot Grigio was and had to look at my menu to figure out which of the 5 wines I had ordered. When the wine was delivered it came is a bucket with a handful of ice cubes and lots of water to keep it cool, I had to ask what the fish of the day was or if they had any specials. It was as though the server had no desire to work or even care if we were there or not. It was a true burden for her to be working. It seems like the island has forgotten who really pays for there salary and the jobs that they have. We ordered an appetizer of Calamari which came out very chewy and burnt. The picture on the menu of the calamari was why we ordered them as they looked so good. When the Calamari was delivered I had already finished my diet coke some 20 minutes ago, but of course our waitress was just so busy to see if we needed anything else as the waitress who did not want to me there did not even bother to ask if I would like another because she would have had to walk to the bar to get another and I am sure that would mean she had to work. After we finished the appetizer we had to wait 45 minutes for the main course to arrive. My wife had the Jumbo Shrimp which I might add was very good and cooked to perfection. But before the food came the waitress pulled a bib over each of our heads with out even an excuse me or asking , she just pulled this large bib over each of our heads with no explantions. I of course pulled mine off and wished I had not as the way the food is served on a Hot Rock leaves little room for error while eating, or cutting your food. I ordered Salmon which was tasty but already cooked and was only burning on the Hot Rock as it sat there. Smoke is billowing into your face, and the heat from the rock was very uncomfortable. The food was brought to the table and placed before us and of course the waitress left without a single word. No sauces were brought out and when my wife asked for some the waitress was very upset that she would have to go to the kitchen to bring out some sauce. Well dinner was almost over and I was still eating my French Fries with no ketchup, just a small bowl of frozen fries and served cold when our server reached in front of me and started to clear my plates. I am not talking about just sitting there kind of eating I was actually putting the fries into my mouth as she reached in front of my face and started to clear my table. I thought the restaurant needed us to leave the way our waitress cleared the table so quickly. Of course that was not true as it took us another 30 minutes to even get the waitress to come back over to the table to give us our check and that was only because she was helping another table serve the food near us and my wife had to yell for her to get our check. No offer for coffee or desert, and truthfully we would not have ordered anyway based on how long it took to get shrimp and salmon. I come to Aruba at least once a month over the past year and I can tell you that I will do everything and use everything available to me to keep people away from this restaurant. The service was non existent; the food was ok nothing special as the menu is very limited. I have not felt so unwanted or un-respected in a restaurant since I quit going to St. Maarten. Oh did I mention the cat that walks around your feet while you are trying to eat. Healthy I am sure. If you have over 2 ½ hours to eat a simple dinner and want to be treated like a second class citizen then try Le Petit Café - Play Linda Resort. If you want service and good food I strongly suggest you go elsewhere on the island.

We ate at the advertised ALL YOU CAN EAT BREAKFAST BUFFET. This in itself is a little misleading as there is no buffet. You order from a menu and you can get more of the food if you want. The service was very slow. We had difficulty getting anyone to help us to begin with and then difficult to get anyone to come back and see if we wanted anything else from the "buffet". When we arrived in the morning, the restaurant was not all that clean and it really was not an appealing place to eat. The eggs were not that tasty either, overall the food was not very good. The inexpensive price was the only appealing part but I would have rather paid a little more and had service and a good breakfast! Will never go back there again!!!!!

This was the dinner my wife and I had in Aruba, and we though it was fine, but after all of the other meals we had there, the only way I can describe Le Petit Cafe - pedestrian.

I once lived in Aruba, I have had wonderful dinners here! You go to relax when on vacation and enjoy! Waitress & waiters are very nice & serving was always fine by me! Dinner served on a stone was GREAT! I want to buy a stone for cooking! I can't ever remember a smoked up dining room! You CAN eat outside where its very nice too! Can't complain about a thing here! Never went to breakfast!

Ok this restaurant is cheap and not that good. Went here for a cheap breakfast which was very gross and overly buttery. I think its 8.00 for eggs any style, bacon, sausage, toast, pancakes, french toast, coffee, tea and juice. All you can eat too. Well the toast is self serv ice, you toast it yourself and the eggs which you can have an omelette were loaded with butter and the famous Danish cheese. I would never ever come back for breakfast. The pancakes were gross too. Ok now for the dinner part, this restaurant is known for cooking your own steak, chicken on a petite grill. It was ok but not what I want to do on vacation. Cook my own meat and vegetables. It is cheap so if you on a budget then maybe you can make the best of it.

My husband and I stopped in one day for breakfast (by the high-rise hotels on Palm Beach). I would never go back! They had toasters on a table and you had to make your own toast and butter it with frozen butter. I got scrambled eggs that were not thoroughly cooked; my husband ordered an omelette and it was barely edible.

Only went for breakfast, twice. $8 all you can eat. Not buffet, table service cooked to order, but the first plate was all I could eat. they'll bring more if you want. Very nice staff. On the street at the Playa Linda.

We went to the one next to LaCabana and had an excellent meal, one of the best we had on the island for our honeymoon. We ate outside and we loved the stone rock cooking and our waiter was very attentive but not bothersome. I would always go back.
