Mangos Restaurant

It was my first time Aruba, and at Passions.
The Food was excellent,we listened
to great music as we looked out at the ocean and watched the
waves. One of our most enjoyable
evenings in Aruba.

We stay next door at LaCabana and walk over to Mango one time each trip we take. The patio area where the restaurant is situated is very nice. You sit on a breezy patio with a nice view and the attractive Amsterdam Manor Resort. My kids find things to get here including margherita pizza, burgers and pasta dishes and my wife and I always have an amazing soup and seafood dish for dinner. The staff is very friendly and attentive and will visit your table very regularly. This last trip (Feb 2007), my wife said that Mango's was the best dinner of the trip... and that's saying something! We will be back in February 2008!

Based on reviews on this site, decided to try Mangos. We were not disappointed! The service and the food were both excellent. Not the same boring menu choices. Our meals were so good, we didn't have room for desert.
Atmosphere suitable for both couples and families.

I recently made my first trip to Aruba and stayed at the lovely Amsterdam Manor and over my stay I ate their pizza (very saucy - perfect for me!), chicken wings (perfect hangover food for me!) and dined at Mangos one evening. It is a beautiful, romantic, candlelit restaurant in the open air. I am not a seafood eater (not good when in Aruba) so was thrilled to see a penne pasta with Italian sausage dish on the menu. Not only was it absolutely delicious, but the portion was HUGE - I think it made 3 meals for me over the trip before I gave up on it! I should also give props to the wonderful bar staff at both Mangos and Passions where we spent much time - thanks Angela, Filo, Diego and I apologize but I've forgotten one gals name - sorry! The service was wonderful from my first hour there til the last!

They have redesigned the restaurant a bit since our last visit and it is definitely much more inviting and romantic now. Food was wonderful - as always! We had beef carpaccio, shrimp cocktail, and crab salad as appetizers. For main entrees, the penne pasta and the special of the day which was a seafood trio that included some incredible scallops. Service was very good and attentive.

The bar has a great overlook of Eagle Beach and the Caribbean, and with perfect evening weather and prompt friendly service from the bartender, we could have stayed there for hours. But eventually we did move on to dinner (when we were ready -- we did not have to wait before being seated), and we were not disappointed. The grouper special was very tasty, and the only reason we do not rate Mangos higher is because the food at the other restaurants we had dinner at (Gasparito and The Old Fisherman) was even better (keep in mind Mangos was slightly less expensive).

We love this restaurant at Amsterdam Manor! Chef Marc is the best! Just ate there again last week and had a wonderful meal with 4 friends. Some of our favorite dishes were the crab salad, scallops, French onion soup, and mahi mahi in lime sauce. Service and dessert...also great!

Group of 10 of us stayed at the Amsterdam Manor and ate at Mango's several times. No one had any complaints at all. Great service, food, and atmosphere! My husband and I had an exceptional experience w/ our free dinner that was part of our honeymoon package. They made a special dessert that was out of this world! Will always stay at Amsterdam Manor. Bar was excellent too (Filo the bartender is great!) Beach Bar wonderful too. So convenient!

The food was excellent! Portions were big, selection was amazing!!

The daily specials were always varied.

Every meal was superb. The staff and servers went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of.

The best meal of the week was the BBQ and world dance show. The All-you-Can-eat BBQ was perfect and the show afterwards really entertaining. You need to sign up for the BBQ the day before as places go fast. Anyone is welcome, you need not being staying at Amsterdam Manor to use the restuarant.
