We went to Matthews last year, the nite they filmed the video on Casa Del Mar's website. It was the worst experience we have had in 10 years of going to Aruba! Our original waitress was never seen again till she brought the check. It took the kids that cleanup the tables to help us.Wait staff walked by and said they would get our waitress but never did. After 1 1/2 hours our meal came of course it was cold, my son and his girl friend wanted the Rib Nite Special but after one serving they said it was not worth staying any longer to try to get more ribs.It was not because of the video that the service was bad, friends on the other side of the room said it was "okay".As I left I tried to speak with the owner, sais what I had to say and he never even said "I'm sorry" There are so many wonderful places to eat in Aruba do not waste your money here.

Matthews has been a shining star on the Casa del Mar stage since it opened. We are so pleased with being able to stay right at our resort and know that a wonderful meal awaits us.

The pina colada shrimp is heavely. I also enjoyed the filet mignon My husband always gets fish and was pleased with all his meals. Try the clam chowder. I was amazed at the amount of clams and flavor of the soup. Yummy!!

All the wait staff, including Jorge, who is a riot, Jonathan, who is so shy, Victor, and all the girls are always pleasant and seem to really like their jobs. What a difference from former years. Of course, it goes without saying that Ricardo is the cutest manager on the island...just love him.

One night not to be missed is Karioke night on Wednesday. The music and dancing is so great. All ages were laughing and enjoying the wonderful fun. Ricardo and his staff enjoy the night as much as anyone and are usually seen dancing on chairs behind the bar. Too funny!! Can't wait to go back next March. Karen and Richard

Matthews has really made a step up under the new management. The food is very good and the menu has lots of interesting variety. The setting is gorgeous -- right on the water with great views. The bartending team is great. This is a fun place with lots of good food.

We ate here twice this year. All you can eat rib night for $22.95 on Tuesday is a bargain and delicious. Raphael is a super waiter! The fried calamari is excellent, as is the spicy shrimp. You can also get pizza here. The outside, but covered, dining is nice - very casual. You can walk from the low rise area. One night there was a party on the patio, so we even had music to entertain us.

We ate at Matthew's our first night. The atmosphere is great - right off the beach. We didn't have reservations - the restaurant was packed, but they promised to get us a table and were able to accomplish that in about 20-30 minutes. The food was very good - steak and fish were both great. In one year they have improved from an OK first night dinner type restaurant to a very very good restaurant. We will definitely return.

Was in Aruba for 10 days for Fran Davis Racquetball Fantasy Camp. Fran has been doing this camp for 18 years and we have our farewell dinner at Matthews. Fran is friends with Ricardo, the general manager. Ricardo is very friendly and I now have a friend on the island. By the way, he is a very good racquetball player. I went back to Matthews on Friday night and was treated very well. We sat out at a table next to the beach. Our appetizers were some of the best we have had, I had the scallops. For the main course I had the pina colada shrimp and do not remember the desert. All was very good. I will definitely eat there again. THANKS RICARDO FOR A MEMORABLE MEAL.

Stayed at CasaDelMar and ate here several times. Food and service were the best, overseen by Manager Rick. Location right on the beach is hard to beat. Mutiple Happy Hours give great flexability.

Since we were staying at the Manchebo we decided to give Matthews a try. Very happy that we did. We had the calamari for an appetizer, the Pina colada shrimp and deserts. All were very good. We sat by the railing in their open air restaurant and had a wonderful view. Our waiter was outstanding. We will definitely go back on our next visit.

Went there for breakfast on Sunday. For breakfast you can choose from the buffet or 'a la carte'. Since we were not that hungry, we chose something from the menu. We kept it simple and ordered eggs and toast. I had an omelet with mushrooms, green peppers and tomato's while my wife had an omelet with tomato's and cheese. Our friend Liz had eggs 'over medium' with cheese melted on top. All plates were nicely decorated with fresh fruit and garnish. The food itself also looked and tasted excellent. Our friendly waiter was attentive and humorous. We went there at 10am and the place was busy but not too crowded. Unfortunately we couldn't get a seat near the edge of the restaurant where you have a beautiful view of the beach and the Caribbean sea. Price (incl service charge) was good for a decent sized breakfast, terrific location and friendly attentive service.
