I went to Moomba Beach during a family vacation. I found the staff to be inattentative and do not recommend this establishment one bit. A bartender flat out lied to my aunt when she asked for a certain drink - the bar employee said they dont make those drinks at Moomba while my cousin walked by with that specific drink in hand!!! When questioned as to why the specific drink was listed on the menu (if they "didn't make them"), the employee's response was rude, to say the least. Needless to say, 7 patrons walked out after seeing this type of "customer service". Too bad though, it was right next to my hotel - but I gladly went the extra distance down the street for better service!

I visited Moomba two weeks ago and I've got to say it was one of the worse experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. I understand that on the islands things can and should be laid back. With that said, waiting 2 1/2 hours to get your main course is inexcusable. To top things off they even forgot my wifes meal entirely. You'd think that as a result of this the manager would immediately come over, offer an explanation, comp our meals and apologize for the awful service....well you'd be wrong. The entire staff almost seemed to be avoiding the situation that had developed. Only after we started to make a stink did they offer to do something. They took a whooping 10% off of our check.

The location and views are nice, but the service, food and level of professionalism is awful.

SUPER BOWL PARTY

Moomba's super bowl party was great fun. They set up two large screens on the beach and have a special menu.

The food service was slow, and the crowd was big. The food when we got it was good typical super bowl food.

Bar service was much faster and all together we really enjoyed the event.

We will return for next year.

We were here quite a few times over the week. I strongly suggest hanging out at Moombas on Sunday night, live music during the sunset and it's their busiest/funnest night! We had a great time and the staff is very nice

This is a great spot to grab a bite after lying on the beach all morning. The wait staff all seem to be young people spending time away from the Netherlands. They are always polite but not particularly attentive to middleaged Americans. They are attentive to young Dutch customers.

We came upon this place by accident, just walking down the beach. We went early because we had brunch around 11am that morning. So we got there around 5:30. Our waitress, Ilfa, was the best! We decided to hang around and drink a few cocktails while we waited for the Indonesian buffet to open. The buffet was terrific. We were in swimsuits with cover-ups and it was no problem. We had our 12 and 13 yr old kids with us. They walked down along the beach while we had a few drinks. It was one of the best and probably the least expensive meal we had in Aruba. I highly recommend it. (And of course, the sunset was beautiful!)

DO NOT EAT HERE ! Our waiter was rude, and he completly ignored us. It took forever to get water, and place our order, then when we got it- the food was terrible. There were flies around the buffet and our table. While we were waiting- we could not help but notice this strange odor - the restaurant reeked of cow manure! - we could not determine where the smell was coming from. We almost left- but we didn't want to be as rude as our server. The area is cute- and there is a seemingly fun ambiance- right on the beach, but don't fall for it!

We ate at Moomba on our first night in Aruba - we hadn't made reservations, just decided to take a chance. The setting is nice - right on the water, partly in the sand. Bottom line: maybe stop here later in the night for a beer, but don't bother with the food or the cocktails. The food was pretty bad, the cocktails were very weak and the service is well-meaning, but unattentive. It becomes a pretty hopping party spot late in the evenings, so if you like the pumping bass and hanging out with under-aged drinkers, then head there after 11pm.

once we found moomba beach, our trip became more fun! first the bar. we had two bartenders that started to recognize us after a few trips. i would have them surprise me with something fruity, and my husband who was drink balashi's was switched to amstel brights. they wree fun and great to talk with, giving you the wear to gos and the what to dos on the island. we ate lunch at the bar several times, always very good food.
we ate dinner at the restaurant one night only because we didnt feel like walking any further down the beach, and it was the best dinner we had all week. my husband who is sold on the chicken wings, had those and the chowder . i had the fettuccine aragosta, which was fantastic! our waitress was very attentive and sweet. the toilets are up behind the jolly pirates and arent the cleanest, but when you gotta go, you gotta go.
it is kid friendly if you dont mind the kids seeing a bunch of drinking people. I wouldnt be taking mine there after 9. ;)
