Moomba Beach Bar & Restaurant

We had dinner here one night, great place, we dined in the sand, but very casual, that's what we like! Music in the background was good from the bar next door but not too loud. We both had a couple drinks and Tbone steaks, the steaks were excellent, cooked to order and delicious. Others had fajitas and they looked really good and smelled good too! Service was good, a little slow, but you are dining right on the beach so ....We also left our camera in the chair, it had all our pics from our trip so far on it and we were sick the next morning when we realized, we went back there not expecting to find it but hoping and the hostess had put it in a cabinet hoping we would return as she didn't know how to get in touch with us. It was a digital camera and I truly believe that here in the states, it would have been gone forever! Aruban people are so nice!

If you want to eat on the beach, this is the place to go. The food was pretty good, but its the scenery thats the best. As long as you dont mind the bugs! I actually was very pleased with the young dutch waiter, who spent a lot of time with us and we had a great conversation with him. Though, another night that we were on the beach, contemplating if we should sit by the bar or get a table, the manager was a little rude with us, and basically told us we are better off at the bar, when there really was many empty tables available. So, i would suggest going here for lunch or a snack and not dinner.

My wife and I had the most superb meal. Excellent service. The bar is awesome! Twan, Kees, Carolina, and Daniel made sure we enjoyed every minute! We had so much fun, we actually remembered their names! A must do.

There were 20 of us following a BB party on the Jolly Pirates dining at MooMba's. I had made arrangements ahead of time to order off of the menu but for reasons unknown, the manager decided to try to force the buffet on us and became extremely uncooperative when we refused. If there had only been a few of us, I would have been happy to leave and go to one of the other wonderful places on the island but with 20 people... Anyway, he finally agreed to let us order from the menu but most of the meals took at least one hour. Not fancy meals, just ordinary dinners and sandwiches. Two people did get the buffet and loved it. And when the food finally came most of it was delicious. I had a smoked salmon sandwich that was great but my husband and sons burgers were cold and hard and terrible (how can you mess up a burger???) We were never offered drinks and finally, after several requests, a bartender came over and did get us drinks (which were very good). But two of the people who ordered dinners never got their meals at all! Our table was the last served and it took 1 1/2 hrs from the time we ordered to get our sandwiches. They said that they lost the two dinner orders but it still took at least 15 minutes for the salads! By the time the other 2 dinners arrived we had been there over 3 hours! I actually cannot say exactly what our bill was because they knocked of 10% for our "trouble" and for some reason we never got a bar bill, don't know if it was an oversight or compensation. Normally I would say something but considering the problems we had, it was the least they could do. It's a shame to plan something like a BB party and everyone look forward to it only to have a shadow cast on it with terrible service and attitude, so unusual for restaurants in Aruba. This place is more for a younger crowd and locals on the weekends than a mixed age group at any time.

My finacee and I had lunch here after touring the Marriotts Beach Club offering. The food was great and we sat right out at the edge of the beach. Ocean beautifull, food (sandwiches and appetizers) and the scenery was AWESOME..Blonde 5'7" suddenly got up off her chair from sunbathing...."Topless"

We had a great time at the BB party on May 25, which Cheryl set up for us. Since it was time for dinner when the BB party broke up, we decided to have something to eat at MooMba’s restaurant. We both had the Oriental Chicken soup to start and enjoyed it. We followed that with one order of the Go Go Nuts Shrimp and one steak sandwich. The Go Go Nuts Shrimp were excellent. They had a nice coating, were cooked just right, and came with the Thai dipping sauce (sweet with a little spicy tang to it that you usually get with Thai spring rolls). However, the steak sandwich was disappointing, as the meat was very tough. We would go back to MooMba’s as we enjoyed most of the food, but would avoid the steak sandwich. MooMba’s is located on the beach between the Holiday Inn and the Marriott. All the seating is outside, the majority is under a big thatched hut roof, but they also have some beachside tables for dining.

We had lunch here one afternoon. We had a sampler platter of munchie type foods. very good. And sandwhiches called a hangover sandwhich. It was a huge sandwhich with ham, dutch cheese lettuce, pickles and hard boiled egg on it. It was delicious, but very messy:) Also had a couple of Pina Coladas to go with. Very good lunch!!
