Papiamento Restaurant

My husband and I had the best time at Papamiento’s last evening! I would have given 20 rating if I could! The food from appetizer to dessert was absolutely delicious! The drinks were perfect at the start! Our servers could not have been more accommodating and a quick shout out to Malcolm who is so friendly, helpful with menu selections and full of kindness and grace. We loved every minute we were there. Also a shout out to the kind friendly gentleman at the front gate who showed us where to park. our car . Best dining experience in Aruba!

My family and I went to Paiamento twice on our vacation to Aruba.....because we go back to the best of the first six nights on the seventh night. We loved the setting around the pool, the food was great, and the service was very good. It is really wonderful both nights. The use of the hot stones for serving many of the meals was a great experience. My wife and I will go back to Aruba in the next five years because we loved the island and we want to go back to Papiamento. This is the best restaurant we have found in the islands.

OK so we had really high expectations of this place since we have been to Aruba 6 times and somehow this was our first visit. Friends of ours said that the perfect restaurant would be to take the food from Madame Jeanette's at Papemiento's location hinting that the food was not the best, but not bad either. Now to the title...maybe it was where we were seated (next to the pottery hut in the corner) but our table was "hit" with bird poop from above no less than 10 times during out 1.5hrs stay. I get it your outside in a beautiful hacienda setting, but what could be worse than getting a bunch of birds dropping bombs on you and your food...wait actually the only thing worse was my wife's fish dish that was drowning in a creamy limon sauce and mine served on a hot plate that was drier than a palm tree...honestly the worst 2 dishes we have had from any restaurant on the island in 6 yrs! I must say that the kids all had the fried grouper from the kids menu and found it excellent and a good value. Service was also poor with nobody asking how our meal was going until we were done at which point we just wanted to leave after being pelted with poop from above...WILL NEVER GO BACK...so many better choices elsewhere.

If you want a truly beautiful food experience in a romantic setting this is the place. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE! Great espresso martinis with solo artist playing top hits on a stand up harp.While all delicious dishes are brought out .wonderful...........

Went to this restaurant on the recommendation of friends of ours who we're unable to be in Aruba this year. Very glad we took their advise and will be returning again on our visit next year. Loved the food, service and a terrific ambience like no other. A definite keeper for anyone travelling to Aruba

We have been to Papiamento more than a dozen times and for a few years in the past it wasn't living up to its former standards. The past two years we have seen a major turn around, and had great meals.

There were six of us and everyone enjoyed what they had. As per the rest of the reviews, the setting remains absolutely beautiful and romantic for couples, but still great for groups. Service is professional and not slow.

This restaurant is one of the classics in Aruba that does seem a little traditional, but thankfully is one of the few fine dining places on the island where people can still dress to go out to eat. Most others have closed due to a proliferation of tourist traps near the high rise hotels. The menu is classic and lives up to the hype....if it isn't broke don't fix it.

Appetizers were all good, including French onion soup that was not too salty and had great flavor, and the baked shrimp. For entrees...grouper is the way to go. Served with your choice of several different sauces, the fish was perfectly prepared, not overcooked and deliciously moist.

We have been to this restaurant many times. This time we were disappointed with the quality of the food. Cafeteria quality salad & average main course. The setting is lovely--we sat by the pool. Service was good to start, but fell off drastically as the restaurant became more crowded. The worst part of the evening came when a woman with a camera came by & wanted to take a picture for $7!!!This is a high-end restaurant that really should not cheapen itself with such silliness. There were plenty of cell phone flashes going off all night. No one needs to have a picture "taken" for a fee.

First time at this restaurant and it was a wonderful experience! Quality of the food and food presentation were very good. Service and ambiance were excellent! We would definitely eat here again!

:( I opted to try Papiamento on V-day and it was the first and last time I'll ever go there. Dinner got off to a bad start from the beginning. Arrived at 6:30 and the rest. was about a third full. Had reserved seating by the pool and they sat us at a table on the side of the bar. Someone was smoking pot and the odor was quite pungent, and I asked if they could switch our table to the other side. They were kinda nasty about it, insisted the other tables were reserved, and told us if we wanted to stay we could eat inside but they wouldn't seat us outdoors at a table on the other side. We were low keyed and polite, and certainly didn't expect that reaction. I even pointed out that they had other tables for 3 already set up in the other corner, but they wouldn't seat us there.

Wasn't worth arguing, so we moved indoors. We felt the food was ok, but nothing was really good; every other dinner we had the rest of the week was better. Food was basically bland.
