The restaurant was very romantic and pleasant. Service was good. Food was alright. Appetizers that we ordered were not the winners. But main dishes were very good. I would definitely recommend it.

Papiamento was my favorite restaurant that we tried on this trip. The atmosphere outside around the pool is fantastic and the food was excellent. Great service. Will definitely be going back!

We haven't been here for years and were really pleased with our dinners - have to make a habit of going here more often again!

Atmosphere outside by the pool is very charming, food was good and meat was cooked perfectly. Just an all-around nice evening with good food and good friends!

Wish we could say we enjoyed Papiamento's but only found it 'so-so'. It has been more than 7-8 years since we dined there last. While the ambiance is welcoming, the food was just okay. Nothing bad but rather bland and ordinary. If there is a category for drinks - the apple martinis rate a 10. Excellent. The desserts were especially underwhelming and overpriced. We did enjoy a leisurely time with new friends who hadn't been here before. We waited several years to return here and will probably not return again soon. (It would be great if they sat indoors. It's great ambiance and on the night we dined, was somewhat cooler.)

My husband and I ate dinner here on 9-3-08. It was our 15 year anniversary. The restaurant is so pretty and romantic. Our table was by the pool. The food was very good as well as the service. Try the cream of mushroom soup..yum yum. At the end of dinner the staff came and sang happy anniversary to us along with a sparkler and one of the most tasty Creme Brulee. Was a great night and we will return next year for our 16th anniversary.

We arrived with reservations for four near the pool and we were very happy because the place looks really nice. But thats where it turned for the worst.

First they said there were no seats near the pool and as we walked by there were two tables sitting empty by the pool. They stuck us in the back corner and we complained and finally got moved.

Food was around 28-38$ a plate and it was more of a healthy type of food with very small portions. Everyone was dissapointed and broke! thank god we had pizza later because I was hungry!

we tried to make reservations here for our honeymoon and they were booked. Now we know why. This will become one of our “must do” restaurants in the future. We were seated by the pool. The food, service, wine, and ambiance were all amazing. Both our meals were “one the stone” and we loved them. Hubby got the Caribbean Grill (shrimp & lobster) and I got the Mixed Grill (chicken, filet, shrimp). Both were amazing!!!!!!!!!!

My husnad and I ate at Papiamento on 7/18/08. When we arrived we were seated at a table right in front of the pool. That is the best place to be seated!! It is romantic and the setting is perfect. Our waiter was fantastic. His name was Arie and he was friendly, nice, and gave great suggestions. My husband had the French onion soup which was great and I had the tomato and mozzarella salad. Also great. For our entrees we had the chicken Parm, and the rack of lamb that cooked on the hot stone!!! It was excellent! This restaurant is perfect.. Ask for a table around the pool!

This was our second time to the restaurant on our second visit to Aruba. We sat at the exact same table, and the atmosphere and food were both as good as the first time around. The French Onion soup was good. The inclusion of some sort of tomato paste was a little weird, though, but it was still good. The bread and olive oil dip was good. My seafood (lobster tail and shrimp) was excellent, and her steak was excellent as well. Staff very friendly and eager to take your pictures. We will come back on our third visit for sure

In short, Papiamento was excellent. Although other reviews indicated poor service, we found the service to be well above average. Our needs were attended to by 4 or 5 staff members with good timing and consistency. The food was very good and the presentation and ambiance excellent. I've been to most of the good restaurants on the island and this is on my TOP 10!
