Henri Charrière, one of the world's most famous prisoners, would surely have had the time of his life at Papillon Restaurant in The Village, across from the Radisson Resort. Nicknamed Papillon because of the butterfly tattoo on his chest, the Frenchman was the first convict to escape from Devil's Island, something that nobody had ever done before. Charrière's thrilling, gripping autobiography has been the concept behind Papillon Restaurant.

Duck was good, Filet mignon was ok and desserts were great. Service was a little slow and stuffy - our waitress forgot a lot of things.

Dont leave without trying some of Theo's wonderful drinks. The peach martini was soooo good and the coffe marini was awsome. Don't leave Aruba without seeing Theo! Great service,fun,and yummy!

From our first taste, we knew Papillon was going to be a staple in our restaurant picks. We actually booked our next reservation before dessert arrived. The ambience is great, food is imaginative, fresh, and high quality. Marloes was our server the first time, and we requested to be seated in her station the following visit, due to her excellent demeanor and desire to create a wonderful dining experience. We regularly dine in Manhattan, and would put Papillon in the upper tier of N.Y.C. venues.

WOW ! we have been to Aruba for 2 years in a row now and Papillon is our very favorite restaurant. Everything is always fresh, the flavors amazing, the cost reasonable, and the staff is wonderfully helpful and professional as well as friendly. Easy to walk to from the high rise hotels, and just a taxi ride from the others! Love this place! Will go back any time!!!!

We went to papillon restaurant for or honeymoon. and the service en food was very good it taste like home. because we are from Belguim we missed or food and there it was like home so tastful en more than enough. Everybody who goes to Aruba has to go to that restaurant its fine food! thank you lovely regreats from Belguim

Our hotel mixed up our reservation but the hostess very quickly assured us that it wasn't a problem & seated us within minutes. The service continued to be as gracious throughout our dinner. My husband ordered the ceviche & I had the mixed salad. We both has the duck as our main course. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious!! Even the bread - an herb infused whole wheat was great!!
We will definitely go back the next time we are in Aruba!

Let me start by saying that we have lots off experience dining in many terrific restaurants in New York, and that by comparison Papillon restaurant is by far the best we have tried on Aruba.

We dined here on the 26th of December and had a wonderful experience. We had a great tasting and great looking 4 course menu specially for Christmas paired with some nice french wines.

The place was packed when we arived but we hardly noticed because the service was awesome.

Its a shame that Papillon is in a badly lit mall that doesn't really offer anything else interesting because the restaurant itself looks stunning and deserves to be more in the spotlight.

A delightful new addition to our list of Aruba favorites that we return to every year. All aspects of our meal were excellent. I do agree with the reviewer who suggested a little more separation from passers-by in the mall.
