Papillon Restaurant

Great restaurant! we had a surprise menu and it was the best dinner in our 2 weeks vacation! Raymond was our waiter and he did great. Thank you for the great evening and see you next year!

We just recently spent two weeks on Aruba and this was by far the most disappointing evening of our vacation. After all of the wonderful reviews, we expected the experience to be enjoyabable. The restaurant is set back and there really isn't any breeze, so we were very hot. Our appetizers and wine were good, but our entrees which were the specials of the evening--sauteed skate wing and angel hair w/squid ink--were so salty that they were not edible. When we told our waiter, he just shrugged. So, that coupled with the heat and a $200 bill for a dinner we didn't enjoy just isn't acceptable or something we can recommend. Will not return.

Gisteravond met ze drieen bij papillon gegeten en het was heerlijk!! Het verrassingmenu was super, zo konden we van alles wat proeven en dat is gelukt!! Alles smaakte meer dan lekker , genoeg tijd tussen de gerechten en een heel mooi restaurant. Zeker een aanrader!!

I often live by the reviews on this site and have mostly never gone wrong - that is until now. To be perfectly honest after dropping $200 for three people for a round of drinks, soup and entree, I just don't understand the postive reviews.

The environment is nothing special beeing set 50 meters off the street and behind flea market stands. Even the overhead music is not French, more like old time US balads.

This was the first time in our lives that we had "sour" French Onion Soup.

After the soups, the kitchen was extreemly slow, so expect to get filled up on the baked bread (the high point of the night). Our entrees was the strangest collection of ingredents, and most of them having little to do with French cooking. Almost every meal is serviced with "Rosota", not French. I ended up with three Tampora type fried shrimp on a small pile of egg noodles that had been toped with Soy Sauce poured on the food like it was chocate sauce on a Icecream Sunday. Again, none of it seeming French or even being tastey.

What was French was the small portions and big prices. Please do not recreate my failed visit to this place.

Our favorite restaurant in Aruba! We had our first meal there about 3 years ago and have returned at least once or twice on each trip since. Love the duck, the triple tail, the grouper!!
The service is excellent and the staff couldn't be friendlier!

Great place to be. Entourage of Papillon the movie/true story of Henri Charriere (even in the restrooms). Great service (not only the waiter Mario, but anybody here tried to deliver the best service), GREAT food (starter, main dish, desert) and even the suggestion to try the cold coffee Martini (without Martini).
Superb, after 6 years Aruba, this is the best one yet.

Just had dinner at this outstanding restaurant. Everything from staff, service, food to ambiance was excellent. Never had such a fine dining experience on Aruba (and we come here for six years now). We can recommend everyone with some time to really enjoy an evening of fine dining to come to Papillon and let themselves be surprised.

There is a reason this is the highest rated restaurant on this website... this restaurant and the food is amazing. I can't say enough wonderful things about our meal last night. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely.

I really love this restaurant is chic and hip the service is great & friendly. The food is delicious & is beautifully presented with an unique touch. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves great food and wine, or who would like to dare trying.It has a romantic atmosphere yet it can also be childfriendly.

Consistent Excellence. I've been visiting Papillon since it opened. I think I was even there opening night... I didn't think the food could improve from day one, because it was outstanding then, but it has! The chef has nailed it. The manager has been the same since opening day and has prided herself on making each dining experience exceptional for each person. It's my first stop each time I get off the plane... and has often been my final meal on the island. It's the only way I want to begin and end my vacation on my favorite island!
