Sole Mare

It is possible that Sole Mare is the best Italian restaurant on Aruba. Certainly it is our favorite. It's been in business for eight years, which is quite a feat in this highly competitive field.

Husband asserts that they make the best Veal Parm that he has ever tasted (and he's an expert on veal parm tasting). The food is fabulous, wait staff great -- and fun as well. It's comfortable and "resort casual." Go there.

The food is excellent. They are very friendly, the service is great. The restaurant is a little old but clean. I would definetly return.

During our one week stay in Aruba, we ate here twice. This is a very reasonable, informal restaurant with excellent food. The service was very good. Never had an empty water glass. They serve delicious garlic bread and polenta in addition to regular bread. Appetizer (smoked salmon), salad, rigatoni with eggplant, seafood with pasta, ice cream sundae all were exceptional.

We wanted to try a different Italian restaurant and decided on this one at the suggestion of bbers. Their large menu offered interesting selections. We both chose rigatoni dishes...1 with a cheesy tomato sauce and 1 with a vodka mushroom sauce. Both were very good. In fact our entire meal was excellent from salads thru dessert; however, the atmosphere was loud plus we had an obnoxious table of 4 next to us. Service was unorganized right from the moment we walked in thru dessert and then some. There was plenty of staff, so it wasn't as if they were shorthanded. Our drink order was forgotten as well as our entrees. Five different waiters came to us with the dessert cart AFTER we had ordered, plus 1 more after our dessert arrived. It was getting comical. Plus we found it odd their sugar bowl had some sugar packets with the Radisson logo on it. Oh well, we tried them.
