My Experience

Jul 27, 2015 - posted by
The Flying Fishbone was recommended by a friend for one of the best romantic sunsets in Aruba. The atmosphere and view was outstanding and so was the service; however, the food was horrible. It had no taste and our party of four all had a terrible meal. I would never spend that much money and return even though I will return to Aruba in the future.

Delicious food with amazing ambiance

A group and I ate here and we loved it! The ambiance and decor is gorgeous and romantic!! The lights on the water made the scenery even more gorgeous. We had Mike as our server and he was charming and provided outstanding service!! We had the lobster and avocado appetizer which was amazing and super fresh!! My friend and I tried the unicorn fish special and it was to die for! Cooked to perfection and we were very happy with our choice! I highly recommend this place for those going to Aruba and if I return to Aruba I will definitely return !

very, very disappointing

We had such high expectations and were so disappointed. The ambiance and setting is beautiful and we were anticipating a wonderful meal. Sadly, the food for the most part was so terrible that we will not be returning. Salad needs to be crisp and cold, not warm. Same with lobster/avocado appetizer. Shrimp dishes were terrible. Shrimp were mushy and tasteless. None of the dinners were finished as they were so disappointing and we just skipped dessert. There is an extensive drink menu and sangria was good.

Dining by the sea

Beautiful views, the cab ride cost me $80 US round trip (excessive). Service was OK. Drinks came in small orange juice glasses you get at a diner, two sips and gone. Not cool. Food was superb but dark so it was hard to see what I was eating...thank you Flashlight app!! Overall I would go back but would rent a car and bring my own booze LOL!
Bring bug spray...black fly season.

Not a good meal

Apr 18, 2015 - posted by
I didn't enjoy my meal and general experience. I had no clue how far away it is from my hotel. My taxi fare was $50 each way. The food was not what the reviews were. It was a bad night. I felt sick after I had ate and they must have had bad food. It may have just been one single night, but I do not recommend this whatsoever!

Poor Meal

Not anywhere as good as the places I have been. I would not recommend this. The taxi fare was ridiculously expensive to get here and is not worth it at all. The restaurants I would recommend are all within a 2-3 mile radius of the hotels

Sooo worth it!

Fabulous experience! Imagine being seated at a table, surf side, toes in the sand sipping wine, eating a deliciously prepared entrée all while viewing the red and orange orb (the sun) as it falls slowly from the sky and disappears into the horizon of the turquoise waters. The food was scrumptious, the staff was very attentive and the setting is just dream like! It was a 30 minute drive from the Divi Village, but worth the trip! Leave a little extra time in case of traffic. You won't be disappointed!

Worth the trip

This restaurant is about 30 minutes from the Palm beach hotels and it is worth the trip. This was unanimously our favorite restaurant on our recent vacation (and we ate a lot of really good places). Everyone in my party had a great appetizer or soup, entree, and dessert. It doesn't get any better eating great food in relaxed atmosphere on the beach.

Second Time There. Will Not Return

Dec 9, 2014 - posted by
Tonight was our dinner at The Flying Fishbone. We had a reservation for 6 and I thought we had left in plenty of time. The traffic was terribe, even on the back roads, as it took us almost 55 minutes to get there, arriving 10 minutes late. We were seated promptly though and greeted by our server. They brought out the dinner rolls, only 2, with enough butter for 6. Not that we're big bread eaters, but 2 rolls the size of tangerine. The girl that brought the water and rolls continued to keep our water glasses full but never asked if we wanted another roll during out half hour wait for our entries to arrive. The wait for dinner is understood, but 2 rolls!
I ordered the grouper and the wife ordered the barracuda. The grouper was fine, although it was two thin filets rapped in bacon. The wife's barracuda couldn't be finished, after she bit into 3 fish bones that were long enough to use as tooth picks. I'm exaggerating, they were only an inch long! The topper was the four fish scales that had made it into her bed of mash potatoes! End of meal...
I politely played ignorant to our server and asked if the bones were common to this type of fish and she urgently replied no, then I exposed the fish scale in the wife's napkin. She was going to talk to the chef. At least 30 minutes goes by and she brought our check, explaining that they discounted the barracuda dish. It amounted to 33% off that item. It would have been nice if the restaurant manager, who was very active in the dining area, had stopped by and at least said something. Needless to say we've scratched this one off of the list, as there are way to many other choices on the island to give this one another chance.
Headed back to the condo for some in room dessert and called it a night. Tomorrow, beach day.

Best all around meal of our vacation

A party of 11 with one little guy (who fell asleep at the table) should have been chaotic...it was anything but. The service was outstanding, the food was fantastic, the environment...no words, and that sunset..sigh.... Yes, we would go back in a heart beat!
