This is our first time to this resturant and it came highly recommended. We loved the view and got great photos of the sunset but other than the view almost everything else was awful. Our server was terrible and we had to hunt him down several times to get our drink orders. Our salads were the only positive part of the meal. We ordered a 42$ lobster...don't do it if you are used to Maine lobster, it was overcooked and tasteless. I would have told my server this, if only he had asked! It took 2 hours to complete our meal, which seemed to take forever. I guess our expectations were too high for this place. We won't be going back.

We took the trip by taxicab (about $30) from the high-rise hotel area to this wonderful little gem based on numerous great recommendations (note: your cab driver will likely arrange with the restaurant to return for you at the right moment). We arrived at 6 (perfect time), sat outside at a table on the sand, and watched the sun sink into the sea at about 6:45 -- a spectacular sight! The food and service were excellent. The tables are crowded together a bit closer than might be optimal, but it wasn't a problem (was actually kind of fun chatting with the neighbors). Contrary to some reports, there were no flies or bugs of any kind. The meal was magical and we would definately recommend Flying Fishbone as one of Aruba's best!

We've been coming to Aruba a long time and Flying Fishbone has always been a must on our list. Sadly, we will no longer be going. The photo posted does not portray an accurate description of tables. They have at least doubled the amount of tables and it has become quite crowded. My husband and I had a hard time having a private conversation. We wanted a romantic dinner and although the setting is beautiful, especially at sunset, there is no longer any privacy. The food was good - our salads were excellent but the entree's were just good. Gladly the service was still excellent and attentive.
I believe The Old Man and the Sea will be our new "romantic" night out. You shouldn't fix what's not broken. I'm sorry to have to write this review.

After a dozen trips to Aruba, we finally made the drive to this restaurant. We requested a table not in the sand when we made reservations. When we got there, they don't us that section was open. We were about ready to leave because we didn't want to sit on the beach, when they "found" us a table in the corner. The table was hot and stuffy and they wouldn't let us move to the one next to it, which offered a little more air movement. Our waitress was great and made a big effort not to forget us and she didn't. I know this is supposed to be a great romantic place, but the tables on the beach were almost on top of each other. It was more like a big beach party. Our dinners were very good, but I don't think this place is worth the drive. Too many other places we enjoy closer in.

First, we would like to thank Jose and the rest of the staff for 25 star
performance. Service unparalleled. I had the Sirloin Steak with Truffle
Sauce. The best steak I've ever had. My wife had grilled shrimp for she is
a shrimp lover wherever we go, and it was one of the greatest shrimp
entree's she's ever experienced. The atmosphere is worthy of a life-long
memory. Next and every time back to Aruba, we will share another evening
with Jose and all of the other servers who made our evening simply worth
talking about forever. Thank you guys, and thank you Flying Fishbone.

My husband and I went to the Flying Fishbone for our 40th Anniversary. We had been told what a great restaurant this was and they were right! The atmosphere was unbelievable - we sat outside in the sand and watched the sunset. It was perfect. The food was delicious and the service was top shelf. They even remembered that I mentioned it was our 40th Anniversary and came out with a special dessert for us! This is a "must go to" restaurant when you are in Aruba!

Our family including two adult daughters and their friends rate the Flying Fishbone as our favorite restaurant on Aruba, and we have tried many. Sometimes, we order the chef's special - a surprise dinner - for the group. We anticipate the wonderful food we know will grace out table as we sink out toes into the sand and watch the sunset. The food, presentation, and service - always wonderful and memorable. Having Delbert, the saxophonist, play at our table is the icing on the cake. If only we could get him to play the Michigan fight song - maybe next visit. Relax and enjoy the fine dining. Katy
