Located in Savaneta, the Flying Fishbone restaurant accommodates its guests with their famous on-the-beach dining area.
Enjoy a variety of freshly prepared gourmet seafood or meat dishes underneath a star filled sky, with your feet in the sand while listening to waves gently breaking on the shore.

We loved it, the setting was amazing, before and after the beautiful sunset. The dishes were delicious. The mushroom sauce with the tenderloin tips and the mustard sauce with the Mahi Mahi were great.
Good wine selections, best we've seen in Aruba.
The service was friendly and barefoot.......HAHAHA!
We will come back for sure. The white chocolate cheesecake was incredibly light and the chocolate mousse and dutch apple apple were perfect.

If you want one of the most romantic dinner locations in the world...this is certainly one of them. Feet in the sand, beach feet away, and a perfect view of the sunset. It literally does not get better. Food was very good, service was very good - but your paying for the location. Check the internet for sunset times when you will be there and do not miss this restaurant.

We came to Flying Fishbone on the second night of our honeymoon for our special dinner. Everything was wonderful. The service was fantastic, you didn't want for anything. The have a great drink menu with lots of different drinks. We sat right on the beach, with our feet in the water. It was so cool to see fish and other sea life in the water. The food was wonderful. The lobster bisque is more of a broth than a cream soup, but the flavor was great, and their were lots of chucks of real lobster. The Tuna was fantastic, cooked perfectly. For dinner I ordered the steak tips which surpassed my expectations. The vegetables were mixed in with the sauce giving it a great flavor. We also had their special wich was a grouper which was super tender. We also shared a creme brule for dessert. This place is a little out of the way and they took great care in making sure that a taxi was waiting for us when we were ready to leave. During our entire experience we didn't want for anything. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the the entire experience, and the sunset view was breath taking.

While the atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful, and the appetizers were good, the main courses were not so great. The Oso Bucco was full of fat, and the Sea Bass was rubbery and full of butter. I must say that the muscle special appetizer was very good. I would not recommend this restaurant, and I would never go back.
Overall, for the price we paid, it was NOT worth it....it was quite OVERPRICED.

The Flying Fishbone was recommended to me by two people at the local office of my company as a romantic place to take my wife for dinner. As single young women, I wasn't too sure what to expect, but I now know that Arubian women do seriously understand the concept of romance and good food.
The Fishbone was at first an interesting adventure to find. It is no where near the hotel district. It is very much away from the congestion of Oranjestad. All of this makes it far more appealing, once you get to the end of the dirt road hoping to God you went the right way!
Once there, you still wonder if you are in the right place as the restaurant is nestled in amongst several homes (the guy who lives next door has this BEAUTIFUL blue Bentley!!). As you walk in the door, you keep walking and walking until you finally get to the reception desk. The staff were very accommodating, but it was very busy for an off-season Saturday night so we had to wait for a few minutes in the bar. It was at this point the evening began to get interesting.
Two couples before us were asked to go upstairs rather than out on the beach area. They both got very upset as they had requested beach level tables. They got them, though I don't think to their satisfaction. It was at this point my wife and I figured "What the hell?" as the upstairs tables had a marvelous view of the ocean and the sunset. So when the hostess came and asked if we minded sitting in the water, we weren't too sure what we heard, but were shown to a table that was, as she had said, right in the water. It was EXCELLENT and very much fun to take your shoes off and splash in the water. Who says romance has to be completely adult?
Dinner was excellent and filling! We started with the corn chowder and the shrimp roti. Both very good and light. The wine list was extensive and the Greg Norman chardonnay was cold and delicious. My wife had the Savaneta Seafood History which was a mixture of a variety of shellfish and fish with rice and was wonderful. I had the beef tenderloin tips with melted fois gras, which was amazingly good. We ended with dessert - a light sorbet and a chocolate mousse for me. The check was high, but well worth it.
I recommend this place highly. Try to get reservations for around 7:00 as the sun goes down, but even dark, it is still an excellent time.

We wrote a review from the 21st on the FFB and did not have a good experience. We did fill out the comment card (to discuss our displeasure) and also posted our dissatisfaction on this website and something truly astonishing happened...the FFB contacted us the next day to discuss our experience. The manager really took our comments to heart and to make up for our experience-gave us a free night at the FFB. We went on Friday 3/23 and had a WONDERFUL experience. Had a great table, service was excellent, and this time our grouper was superior (it was the special of the night). It was great to know that restaurants still rely on those comment cards and really read them to know what is happening at their establishment. KUDOS TO FFB & TO A MANAGER WHO CARES!

I have been to Aruba three years in a row and have been to the flying Fishbonre 3 years in a row. The first year I was very pleased with the food but , alas, after that it left something to be desired. My Mom who has been ro Aruba 6x and the Fishbone an equal number of times concurs with my assessment. Regardless, one must not visit aruba without taaking in the ambiance of TFFBB. It is so relaxing amd beautiful and no complaints about the service form me. I particularly enjoy the company of the resident pooch. I can't remember his name but he is delightful and quite friendly. Quite good dinner company. The retaurant is well off the beaten path but the ride is enjoyable. I'm presentlly packing for my 4th trip to paradise. I'll be leaving in a couple of hours. No doubt I'll check in at the Flying Fishbone as I reccomend everyone who reads this should. Don/t expect exquisite food, but an A+ in every other category.

Flying Fishbone is our traditional "last evening on the island" restaurant. I am always so sad to leave Aruba that it takes something truly spectacular to distract me - and Flying Fishbone always delivers.
This is my favourite restaurant not only on the island, but on the planet. The ambiance is unbeatable. Every evening Mother Nature puts on a spectacular sunset show that is the perfect accompaniement to a wonderful drink and wine selection, fabulous food beautifully presented, top-notch friendly and professional service, and a location that is unbelievable.
We have brought many friends with us to Flying Fishbone over the years and every one of them has been tremendously impressed.

We come to Aruba 3-4 times a year and always enjoyed the Flying Fishbone. Last night, however, was a different story. We emailed our reservation over a month before our visit and the night we showed, there was no record of it. After we were seated-the manager came over and said they had the reservation for the next evening and that I must have made the mistake (in a unprofessional tone). Now at that point, we could have, but since we did not have our computer, we could not verify. But I thought it was rude for the manager to just assume it was our fault.
We waited over 15 minutes before someone came to take our drink order, the place was very busy, but a drink order? Our waiter was great and took our order but it did take over 30 minutes to get our meal (we did not order a starter) and our waiter did finally come over and tell us that our meal would be 5 more minutes.
My husband's meal was good casserole with a mixture of shrimp, blue cheese, and mushrooms. His & my side dish of mashed potatoes did not have any taste. Thank goodness we still had the garlic butter that came with our bread. My meal of scallops was very lacking, the black/white sauce did not have any flavor, the scallops themselves had not been rinsed because you could hear me crunching on the sand. I used the pepper sauce that also came with the bread to add more flavor.
The ambiance at the Flying Fishbone is wonderful but for the price and the service for a meal that was over $100 USD for a very ok meal-not acceptable. That will be our last visit to the Flying Fishbone.
