Alot of people talked about this restaurant, so I went and checked for myself, it was ok, but service was really not all that, the fish I had was nice, but on it's self my waitress had a angry face, not even when I've joked with her. So the service totally wrong.

It's midnight and we just ate at The Old Fisherman. Let me start by saying that last night we dined at Madame Janette's, perhaps the "best" reataurant on the Island. I think that the Old Fisherman beats it. First of all the seating is more comfortable. Last night the chairs dug into my legs. Tonight I was very cozy.
The fish was fresh and tasty. My husband had the catch of the day in cream sauce and I had a skewrer of fish, shrimp and beef. Wow!!!! All our dinner began with a pan bati hasa. That would be corn bread with a salty cheese. Again WOW!!!! When we are in Aruba we expect to pay $100 a meal. Tonight it could have been a lot chaper had we forgone the escargots. But we would have missed a great hors d'oeuvre. The owner was present and concerned about our reaction to the meal. Thank you thank you thank you and thank you again to Sue our server....what a cutie!WE have 5 more nights and 5 more dinners on the Island....we WILL go back to The Old Fisherman because he is not old....he is new and good!!!!!

Stumbled upon this tasty delight while out for a stroll. Looked very busy which is usually a good sign. We were seated quickly but that was about it as far as service. They weren't that busy but were definitely on "island time". Food was outstanding. I had the mahi-mahi in their speciality garlic sauce. My boyfriend had the grilled wahoo (both were the catch of the day). So tasty. I ate every bite. The completementary corn bread (which for us took forever to get and we told the hostess we were starving!) was really worth the wait. Crunchy and topped with some sort of cheese, I could have ate an entire basket. No room left for dessert but the flan looked yummy. All in all a great experience except for the turtle-like service.

Their seafood is absolutely delicious and their prices and their service are fabulous. We were amazed at the amount of food we got for the price. The portions were huge and all the side dishes were delicious. The corn bread with gouda cheese was amazing. We loved the desserts. The whole fried red snapper is great. We will return because you cannot beat the great prices, delicious food, and wonderful service.!!

What a great place. Highly recommended. The best value on the island. A local treasure in the heart of Oranjestad, right by the bus station. They had 4 different fishes for catch of the day. I got swordfish in creamy garlic sauce. Delicious home cooking. For appetizers we ordered escargot, which were excellent. 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 main courses with side dishes, which include rice, potatoes, fried platanos and salad plus basket of home corn bread for $60 is unbeatable. We are definately coming back here!

We found this local restaurant tucked away in town in 2006. We visit Aruba 4 times a year and have gone back on each visit. The food is always fresh, the atmosphere and service are definately that of a locally owned family restaurant. On each visit we have noticed the locals dining on a whole fish dinner. My husband finally decided he had to try this fish. I think it was his favorite meal ever. The side dishes are my favorite. The homemade corn bread is the best.

Affordable prices for great local food.
Colourful decor. This was our fifth time to this fabulous restaurant and this will not be our last time! I ordered the creamy garlic fish fillet and my wife the shrimp .All dishes are served with their home made potatoes, salad, fried plantain, rice, vegetables and their famous "pan bati" (cornmeal bread) with melted gouda cheese on top For dessert we had the caramel flan and the best cheesecake I ever tasted! very highly recommended!
