We were staying nearby and decided to try a restaurnat within walking distance. I had made a reservation and the outside appearance made a good first impression. Tulip offers covered open air dining the overall decor was very nice. Things went downhill after stepping up to the host's table.

After confirming the reservation the young man there simply pointed to our table and told us we could seat ourselves. When I suggested he could take us to our table he didn't seem to understand the concept of seating us properly. A bad sign early.

The food was merely adequate. My salad greens were rubbery and obviously from a preprepped bag. Our entrees were simply edible and the wine list was hardly a list: 10 or 12 selections described in rather large print over 2 pages when one page would have been more than enough. The first wine we ordered was terrible and replaced with another a bit more drinkable.
Our deserts were less than edible, they were terrible: Tirmasu that was not at all and sorbet with the texture and taste of artificially flavored ice. After picking at them for a few minutes we sat them aside and told the waiter of our displeasure. He apologized but offered nothing for replacement or removal of charges from the bill.

I made a rookie tourist error when I signed the bill and left. We received a call sometime later at our hotel room about our mistake. According to my companion the caller, the head waitress on duty offered excuses for our waiter's behavior but made no effort to make us glad we dined there. I received a call from their night manager after 11pm the next night as I was getting ready for bed. He wanted to know why we hadn't come by that day to pick up our receipt. I admonished him for calling so late and he was apologetic but nonetheless... calling after 11pm, really.

When I went back for our receipt I spoke to 2 staff members concerning our experience there and was offered only more excuses and no satisfaction.

Tulip looks great but looks are deceiving. Not recommended at all!

We had tried this restaurant last year and found the food and ambience great, but the service horrible. We thought we'd give give them another try this year, figuring they'd have their act together after a year. No such luck. We waited over an hour for our dinner. The prices, food and ambience are great, but not worth waiting for one's meal. There are to many other super restaurant on the island.

We just returned from our stay in Aruba and this was the only bad experience we encountered while we were there. The food was less than mediocre and seemed like something you'd get at a college dining hall. I got a seafood pasta dish. The seafood tasted like something out of a can, the pasta was very overcooked, and even the sauce was bland and tastless. The server was slow, poor to the point of almost rude and she tried to con us into giving her a tip even though it was already included on the bill. There are many restaurants in Aruba that I'd try before going to this one.

What a disappointment. We just returned from a 7 night stay in Aruba adn this was our only disappointing restaurant experience. The food was mediocre at best. The staff spent a good part of the time arguing amongst each other or with customers which made for a very unpleasant atmosphere. Although the restaurant ambience and table settings were very attractive, they could not make up for the poor service and less than avergage food. The prices were good, but who cares if everything else misses the mark.

Wow, enough cannot be said about this place. It it walking distance from the La Cabana and Amsterdam Hotel. It probably one of the most reasonable places on the island to eat. I had the 6 oz filet minon, bake potatoe and a side dish AND a homemade sangria and it came (with gratuity) $18.00!! The meat was so tender and delicious as I had mine medium rare! My sister had the tuna steak, bake potatoe and side dish AND a glass of house wine and it also came to $18.00. Very cheap and the outside is very pretty and well lite up!! I highly recommened this little hidden place to eat at!

This was our first time for this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised! All the food was quite good, especially the nasi goreng my husband ordered. The service was pleasant and the setting too. For a reasonably priced meal I heartily recommend this restaurant!

Deze prijzen zijn betaalbaar. Het is geen haute cuisine, maar zeker acceptabel. Vooral de keshi Yena is lekker. Echt aan te bevelen.

Great place for lunch or dinner! The food is very good and at very inexpensive prices. Love the Thai chicken salad for lunch and the catch of the day for dinner. Their key lime cheesecake is to die for!
