Yemanja Woodfired Grill
Aruba-s only wood-fired grill restaurant! Beautifully situated in downtown Oranjestad, behind the Renaissance Hotel. Yemanja is relaxing and welcoming, with a passion for tradition and excellence. Seating is either inside (air-conditioned) or outside on a cozy terrace. Serving innovative Caribbean cuisine. Locally-caught fish, shrimp, prime cuts of beef, lamb, pork, duck and poultry are all prepared over a wood fire using mesquite and hickory. Also our appetizers & salads are a real treat! The result is succulent, tender and flavorful dishes that only wood-fire grilling can produce.
We hope we may welcome you soon here in Yemanja.

We really enjoyed the selection of food and loved the salads and bread. The price was reasonable and the environment was a little hot inside but overall a very good experience. We had the tuna steak and a chicken dish and both were very tasy and cooked to perfection. I suggest a reservation be made to sit outdoors instead of inside. Our next trip to Aruba will definitely include this place. Thank you.

Service & food was ok, nothing special. The salads were actually the best part of the meal. The fish entrees were good but very small (not sure what the other reviewers had). My husband had the boursin stuffed grouper. When he saw it, he thought it was 2 jumbo scallops. He was very disappointed with the size. I had the grouper italiano which was a little bland. Side dishes are served family style & are small as well. Chocolate mousse was good but on the sweet side. Previous reviews mention you only get 1 dinner roll per person & are charged for anymore than that. This & the small portions make Yemanja seem chincey. Our total bill with tip for 2 salads, 2 small mojitos, 2 fish entrees & 1 dessert was $124. I much preferred our meal at Suisse Chalet where we had more food, better service & paid less money. We won't go back.

We've had this restaurant on our list since it we tried it shortly after it opened. It will still be there for next year's visit to the island. Food, wine and service cannot be beat. Diana was our server and was a big contributor to a delightful evening. The wine list is well selected, and very reasonably priced.

Hand down the best restaurant we went to in Aruba. My wife and I were on our honeymoon, and decided to try a restaurant in town. We are so glad we did. We each had a glass of wine (generous poor), and skipped apps. I had a steak, which came cut into tips on top of a cranberry mountain. My wife had the Yemanja salad which was huge, and she had a large amount of tuna on top. The sides were perfect for two people (may not be enough for 4) and were delicious. Garlic mashed potatos, bazmati rice, stir fried veggies, and brazillion black beans (all great!).

We were full from dinner, but decided to get dessert anyway because everything had been so good. We had a coconut mousse with mango ice cream, which was excellent.

The ambiance is very nice inside, and the service was excellent, probably the best we had in aruba. Also, it was priced right for the island. It was not a cheap restaurant, but it was less expensive than some of the other "fancier" restaurants on the island.

We have been regulars to Aruba for the last ten years and this was the first visit to this restaurant. The food and service were very good. The menu was extensive including the wine list. The only caveat to this establishment was the size of the portions; my wife ordered the scallops and was served a half dozen and they were small in size (not a good value). In addition, the sides are served "family style" and although they were very good, again the portion sizes were not sufficient for two couples. In spite of the portion sizes, we would recommend this restaurant and we would give it another try the next trip down.

Yemanja is a wonderful restaurant. The food and service are topnotch. We had a party of 4 last thursday evening. We had changed the reservation several times and they were very nice and professional about it. Three of us started with the tomato soup and it was incredible. I had grilled salmon that was grilled to perfection. My wife had a trio of seafood and enjoyed them all. The sides are served family style. We had garlic mashed, rice, black beans and grilled vegetables. All were very good, particularly the vegetables. deserts were also outstanding. The only thing I would say that is not 100% positive is to warn that if you eat outside, you are very close to the street and it tends to get loud. (Inside was very nice). We enjoyed it completely.

First let me say Thank You (still) Diana, we so enjoyed your humor.
We visit Aruba often and this is the first time we have been to Yemanja Woodfired Grill and it WILL NOT BE THE LAST !! I reserved this restaurant from this website as a "family night", and it was so well worth it we all enjoyed it!
Our dinners, drinks and desserts were FANTASTIC for all five of us. And the wait staff was wonderful! We look forward to visiting again the next time we are in Aruba and next time we will try outside dining area. A MUST VISIT while in Aruba.

We had dinner on our second to last night in Aruba, and wish we had found this gem earlier. The service was excellent, and the food was incredible. We stayed in Aruba for 10 days, and we ate out every night. This was by far the best food and service on the island. Dont get caught up in the tourism based restaurants. I would have given the food an 11 if the site had allowed me.
