Yemanja Woodfired Grill
Aruba-s only wood-fired grill restaurant! Beautifully situated in downtown Oranjestad, behind the Renaissance Hotel. Yemanja is relaxing and welcoming, with a passion for tradition and excellence. Seating is either inside (air-conditioned) or outside on a cozy terrace. Serving innovative Caribbean cuisine. Locally-caught fish, shrimp, prime cuts of beef, lamb, pork, duck and poultry are all prepared over a wood fire using mesquite and hickory. Also our appetizers & salads are a real treat! The result is succulent, tender and flavorful dishes that only wood-fire grilling can produce.
We hope we may welcome you soon here in Yemanja.

After going to a number of touristy restaurants, this place was a relief! We were 1/2 hour early for our reservation, and THEY apologized for not having a table! A great mix of locals and tourists, superb food, great staff, this was the highlight of my trip! I wish I had time to visit Marandi too!

This is a great restaurant. The food was superb, and everything our party had was delicious. I particularly recommend the grouper entree and the grilled shrimp. The service was very friendly and efficient. We were treated like old friends, and this was our first time to the restaurant. The hostess in particular made everyone feel very welcome. This is a classy restaurant with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. A perfect 10. Highly recommended.

Wow! I loved the ambiance and the food! I ate there twice in one week. The Yemanja salad with the tenderloin was great! I was particularly impressed with grilled veggies and the 3 sauces that accompanied the salad. It was more like a full meal than a salad! The wine list was quite good and the service was excellent. The chocolate mousse was wonderful! I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are staying at the Renaissance it is a very easy stroll to Yemanja. Great food and service!!!

Very good restaurant.I had one of the best steaks in years there, medium rare done to perfection, best steak since, The Capital Grille in Philly. The desserts were great I had the dark chocolate mousse but my wife's hang up(vanilla yogurt and strawberries)was even better. I am not a big fan of yogurt but this dessert was great.

We definitely utilized this website in choosing restaurants for our 1st trip to Aruba. I must say, this rated in our top two. Food service was excellent. I think we had at least two waiters checking on us at all times plus someone for water and beverages. The grouper fish with boursin cheese was to die for and the duck plate was cooked to perfection. Ambiance was lovely, we sat outside. We have no children and it was nice to sit with adults and no screaming kids. Attire was casual and comfortable. Staff was extremely knowledgeable of menu and prices were moderate to high. Wine selection was good and we would definitely return. Some of the best service we received while in Aruba:))

The food, service, presentation, ambiance, and facilities at Yemanja were all top notch. I would say it was definitely one of the best places I ate at while in Aruba. The service was the warmest of all and as attentive as it was at Sawasdee. However unlike Sawasdee the owner did not plead with us to write a good review on this site and the food and presentation was as good as the standout service was. Food was a little pricey and the desert and bread portions were a little sparse. However they happily brought more bread when I asked. I would definitely bring my family to eat here again or to celebrate a special occasion. If you want a high class dining experience in a warm and friendly environment in the Oranjestad area, Yemanja is the place to go.

We had a rehearsal dinner for 48 guests for our son's wedding at Yemanja last week. We couldn't have been happier with the food, the service, the atmosphere. The guests raved that it was the best meal they had on the island. We are all accustomed to good restaurants in New York and Philadelphia and this definitely ranks up there as a memorable meal. Thanks to Maike and her staff for making it a very special evening.

I've eaten here once last year and thought it was so suburb I'd try it again this year. Turns out we went 3 times in a 7-day span - and we stayed nowhere near this restaurant!!!
Everything from the service to the food to the deserts are just simply top-notch. My wife and I truly believe this wonderful place is not as well known simply because it just doesnt have the location that most other "romantic" restaurants have. It is true its in a little corner of downtown, (and we have just eaten outside, we have no idea what the inside actually looks like!) but the food service and ambiance simply takes you away and you realize you don't have to be overlooking the sea all the time.

The deserts are so delectable make sure to have some room left; the standout is the chocolate mousse. Simply amazing, and we've had mousse everywhere on the island, we truly believe this place has the all-time best.
Entrees to look out for - the Rack of Lamb, Brazilian Moqueca Trio (seafood), and tenderloin w/ truffle butter.
Drinks - Their caipirinhas and mojitos are a must to cool you off outside on a hazy night.

If in Aruba you OWE it to yourself to try this gem once. That's all it'll take to be converted.

I give "childfriendly" an N/A simply because I'm not really sure this will be a place to bring your children and it will most likely break the soothing environment that is created for you.

Thanks a lot for a great evening. We enjoyed our dinner in one of the best restaurants we've visited. Due to our outstanding dinner at Yemanja we tried the two other restautants (Marandi and QuePasa) as well. All of them have their own atmosphere ... just great and excellent food and service. When coming back to Aruba we will definitely dine again at Yemanja.
