Yemanja Woodfired Grill
Aruba-s only wood-fired grill restaurant! Beautifully situated in downtown Oranjestad, behind the Renaissance Hotel. Yemanja is relaxing and welcoming, with a passion for tradition and excellence. Seating is either inside (air-conditioned) or outside on a cozy terrace. Serving innovative Caribbean cuisine. Locally-caught fish, shrimp, prime cuts of beef, lamb, pork, duck and poultry are all prepared over a wood fire using mesquite and hickory. Also our appetizers & salads are a real treat! The result is succulent, tender and flavorful dishes that only wood-fire grilling can produce.
We hope we may welcome you soon here in Yemanja.

My new favorite in my old favorite, Yemanja is in the former Que Pasa location. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding - from the appetizers all the way through to the desserts.

Some people suggest it's hard to find, but it's not. If you take the bus, just go to the street behind the buses and it's just a couple blocks down.

By far, the best restaurant in Aruba. One of my favourites around the world. Thank You again and again and again for the consistent and wonderful experience. What else can I say? other than can't wait to see the folk at Yemanja when we fly back in on Christmas Day...

A hidden gem, that is worth finding. Yemanja, a relation to QuePasa and Marandi is worth searchinig out. While a bit hard to find the food is excellent and the atmosphere quite good. We started with a Shrimp Bisque that was very good, but the texture was a bit thin and could have benefited from a small touch of shredded shrimp. The Seafood Moqueca Trio was a fabulous blend of fish and seasoning that left my wife and I wanting for more after each bite. My daughter had the Grouper Italiano that was outstanding with a delicate touch of cheese and tomatoes to compliment the fresh native fish. My son had the grilled scallops which were grilled perfectly with a touch of Safron. Note that the presentation of each dish was done with an artists flare on unique dishes. The sides (Brazilian black beans, garlic mashed potatoes, stir fried veg., and basmati rice) are served family style and were very good and served hot. The service was excellent, and would have been a higher score if the check had come a bit sooner. While the atmosphere was very nice, and the unique tables and wine selections excellent, a slightly better location would be a benefit. One major negative from this reviewer was that if additional bread was wanted there was a $3.50 charge. There is no excuse for this, especially of a establishment of this caliber. Looking for something unique, off the beaten path and a reward to your taste buds then Yemanja will not disappoint.

We had a wonderful dinner here on our last visit. A special appetizer of mussels was excellent. If it is offered don't miss it. All of our meals were delicious and the service just great.

This is truly one of our most favourite restaurants in Aruba. The potatoe soup is to "die for", and so is the grouper fillet in Boursin sauce....YUMMY!! Other excellent dishes are the tomatoe soup and Grouper Italiano (with pesto sauce).

We loved this restaurant! I was afraid we wouldn't be able to find it but it was really easy to get to. We sat inside since I didn't want to deal with the possibility of smokers.

We had the grilled vegetable salad to start, it was so good I could have eaten the whole thing myself. I had the grouper with pesto and it was fantastic. My husband had the steak and shrimp skewers, he enjoyed it a lot except he wasn't sure about the dipping sauces they were served with. The sides were great - my husband loved the black beans, and he normally hates beans.

For dessert we had the brownie with ice cream. The berries that are used in the sauce are so yummy. We asked our waitress what sort of berries are used in the sauce and she didn't know, so she wrote down the name for us in Dutch. I thought that was nice of her.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Yemanja. I wish they would open an outpost in NY.

Have been coming to Aruba for many years and this restaurant is moving on to the list of must go to's. Last year shortly after it opened the food was great but service was a little slow. In a year they worked out the kinks. Everything was perfect. Wood grilled vegetable salad is especially good as are all the other items cooked on the wood grill.

Wow! Can't say enough!
My wife and I have tried many restaurants on the island over the years. Yemanja will be tough to top. My advice to all is not to miss it. My advice to Yemanja is don't change a thing.
Thanks for a memorable evening!!!
