Yemanja Woodfired Grill
Aruba-s only wood-fired grill restaurant! Beautifully situated in downtown Oranjestad, behind the Renaissance Hotel. Yemanja is relaxing and welcoming, with a passion for tradition and excellence. Seating is either inside (air-conditioned) or outside on a cozy terrace. Serving innovative Caribbean cuisine. Locally-caught fish, shrimp, prime cuts of beef, lamb, pork, duck and poultry are all prepared over a wood fire using mesquite and hickory. Also our appetizers & salads are a real treat! The result is succulent, tender and flavorful dishes that only wood-fire grilling can produce.
We hope we may welcome you soon here in Yemanja.

Absolutely incredible place. Food is uniquely prepared, service is very friendly, location is fantastic, wine selection was excellent. We showed up a day earlier than our reservation and they took anyway. My favorite things were - 1. the vegetables were served in side dishes (5 with my entree) that allowed both my wife and I enough to sample (they were delicious) and 2. I had a chocolate mousse dessert that was delicious and prepared in a way I had never seen. We sat on the brick deck outside - very nice.

Love this place. It smells good, looks good and taste good. Great bar service. The food is awesome. My husband is very hard to please and said it was the best steak he had on the island. The goat cheese app is incredible. You must try -no regrets!!

Our favorite dinner during our trip!

Yemanja was a big hit with us. The quite perfect atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. The service was excellent and prices were reasonable.

My wife had the shrimp and tenderloin skewers and absolutely loved it. The beef was so soft and cooked perfectly. The wood grill added a very distinct great taste. It was not a very big serving but was perfect for her. Maybe they would add an extra skewer if you asked? She claims it was the best piece of beef she had on the island, maybe one of the top ever. I had the seafood trio that was also very good. The waffles were shared for dessert and they were freshly made and excellent.

Highly recommended!!

Excellent dinner. We had the onion soup and goat cheese salad. The dressing on the salad was the best I ever tasted. For dinner we had the salmon and the grouper special. Delicious!!!!!!! The portions were large and we had left overs for lunch the next day. The service was excellent. We ate outside which is on the street near the parked cars. It was mot the best atmosphere, but we will eat outdoors again next time. Highly recommended.

We sincerely recommend anyone to go and have dinner at Yemanja!
The tomatoe spoup was really fresh made, with a very gentle taste.
Fillo dough with goat cheese was just right; the proper amount of sweetness.
The tenderloin was amazing!! Never had better, not too much sauce so you can really get a good taste of the delicious meat, really excellent.
Deserts very good as well, we had the wafels and the chocolate mousse.
We will definately come back!

Fabulous food, presentation, service and environment. We dined a Yamanja on 11/11 and again on 11/18 and the presentation and food were the best. We had tenderloin, chicken and duck. For appitizers we had the tuna tartar and the scallops... and the desserts are great.
Best Aruban restaurant we have eaten at in the 5 years we have been coming to Aruba.
Highly recommended. We will go back.

We were in Aruba 10/16/08through 10/30/08.
We have found a diamond in the rough,
Yemanja WOW!!!!
This is a must eat at from now on.
First our waiter Eric was so charming my wife wanted to take him home.
But now the real good part Food,
the potato soup is outstanding.
My wife had the tuna tare tare words
can't describe how good it was.
Dinner my wife had the trio of fish whuch was great, I had the grilled scallops to die for.
The meals are all served with jasmatti
rice, black beans, and a veggie dish.
Now the second best part the bill with
a bottle of wine, and service charge was under $100.00 great for Aruba.
You mst eat here, we have been comming to Aruba for over twenty years.
This by all accounts is one of the top five meals we have had in Aruba.
Well done Yemanja

The food quality and kitchen creativity of their sister restaurant Marandi transferred well to the Yemanja. Both the wife and I ordered the seafood trio, a dish of grouper, mahi-mahi and shrimp, covered in a tangy Brazilian sauce. What a great dish!!!! Four different sides were included, and it was all priced under $30/plate.

Eating on the outdoor patio, next to a busy street and across from a Government building did dampen the experience slightly.

The next time we go we\'ll eat inside or later in the evening to avoid the Federal employee traffic. Regardless, the food and service here is outstanding.

This place was excellent! A little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip.
The grouper was spectacular!! I defenitely will be returning in 2009. Parking is not a problem either!
Two servers that come to mind were Hannah and Renska, cheerful yet very professional. Well worth a visit!
