Yemanja Woodfired Grill
Aruba-s only wood-fired grill restaurant! Beautifully situated in downtown Oranjestad, behind the Renaissance Hotel. Yemanja is relaxing and welcoming, with a passion for tradition and excellence. Seating is either inside (air-conditioned) or outside on a cozy terrace. Serving innovative Caribbean cuisine. Locally-caught fish, shrimp, prime cuts of beef, lamb, pork, duck and poultry are all prepared over a wood fire using mesquite and hickory. Also our appetizers & salads are a real treat! The result is succulent, tender and flavorful dishes that only wood-fire grilling can produce.
We hope we may welcome you soon here in Yemanja.

If you're looking for something just a little different, but that also offers traditional foods and flavors, this is the best spot on the island. The wood fire grilling adds a slightly different and most enjoyable flavor to all the offerings - and the grilled vegetables and salads are clearly the best you can get on Aruba.

This restaurant was amazing. Very nice atmosphere, the smell of the wood grill was inviting, and the food was outstanding. The steak and shrimp was cooked to perfection and seasoned delightfully. The salad my fiance caught was huge and her chicken was amazing. The main course and side items filled us up. We walked out completely full and satisified. I had to ask for check but that was the onl down fall. I have noticed in Aruba they really arent in a rush to get you out which is nice if you want to sit and mingle. I would recommend this to anybody. Located on the right back corner of Rennisance hotel and casino one block over from facing the hotel from the pier side. Well worth the money. we paid usd 55 for a meal never to forget.

We're so glad we found Yumanza on this site before heading to Aruba on Oct. 2. Quality and quantity of food was incredible; loved the side dishes also. My dinner special, grilled wahoo, would have fed two lesser women! Steve's two filets were tender enough to eat with a spoon. Our only regret is that we waited until our last night to eat there.

Me and My wife had been to this place for the first time we own a restaurant in manhattan and knew what to expect as far as good service and top shelf quality go , I had to say We were blown away by this place!!!!! tonight definely was one of the most memorable nights that we unexpectadly could have in Aruba! food was as you would expect an woodfired grill place to be but what really made the diference was the service that it was with no doubt worth of a "Le Cirque"never been so confortable whit the idea of expending money for food in my life I will not only recomend but also go back to this place for their brazillian trio! amazing!the only weird thing about the food, was that even knowing that it is suposted to be a brazilian place in the caribean it was a litle to ducth! but i guess it's a work in progress best luck for this place !and look for for eric he will be sure to make your night an unbelievable one!

When visiting Aruba, Dan and I usually look to order fish but we ordered beef at Yemanja's as it is woodfired. The night we dined there, it was quite busy for off-season but this was not a problem. The kitchen staff was full - it looked like 4-5 people in the kitchen. There was also a full compliment of wait staff so there was no delay for drinks, or courses to be served. The strip loin and tenderloin both served medium rare were excellent. The service was top notch, our server Hanna was lovely.

Great place with a very nice atmosphere (both inside and outside dining are nice.)

All of our entrees were very good and had a couple of great desserta - the Belgian waffles and the chocolate mousse.

Only minor complaint is that they serve the sides in small dishes to be shared by everyone at your table - we had 4 people at our table and the sides were just enough for 2 people so they need to increase those depending on how many people are in your party.

We just returned from our yearly trip to Aruba, this being our 10th time. We read about this restaurant on-line and were impressed by the ratings, so we decided to give it a try. What a great choice! I had the surf and turf (tenderloin and shrimp) and my husband had the scallops. The BEST meal we've had in Aruba. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the shrimp were cooked to perfection, the scallops were absolutely perfect - everything maintained its own flavor with the addition of the wood-smoked taste. The tenderloin came with FIVE side sauces that were nothing short of genius!! Presentation was spectaculor and the service very good. We got to meet the chef/owner - very personable.
Also, prices were very reasonable for a meal of this magnitude. A MUST for foodies and gormands!!!

We just tried this restaurant on our trip to Aruba last week. The food was absolutely fabulous. The service was also great. If you are going definitely try the stuffed grouper or the beef & shrimp kabobs. You must try this restaurant if you go to Aruba.

My family and i went to this restaurant during our yearly vacation to Aruba (Aug. 7-15, 2008). We have been going to Aruba for the past five years and i stumbled across this website, read the reviews and decided to try it. We were not disappointed, the meal we had there was the best during our trip. I had the black angus steak and you could cut it with a fork it was so tender and well prepared. We will definately be going back August 2009. Just as a side note we went with a 4yr and 9 yr. old and they were very accommodating.
