Yemanja Woodfired Grill
Aruba-s only wood-fired grill restaurant! Beautifully situated in downtown Oranjestad, behind the Renaissance Hotel. Yemanja is relaxing and welcoming, with a passion for tradition and excellence. Seating is either inside (air-conditioned) or outside on a cozy terrace. Serving innovative Caribbean cuisine. Locally-caught fish, shrimp, prime cuts of beef, lamb, pork, duck and poultry are all prepared over a wood fire using mesquite and hickory. Also our appetizers & salads are a real treat! The result is succulent, tender and flavorful dishes that only wood-fire grilling can produce.
We hope we may welcome you soon here in Yemanja.

The location of Yemanja was perfect for where we stayed in Aruba. The bar is very nice and staff was friendly. I recommend the Kyoto! However, once we sat at our table, we had as many as 4 different waiters throughout our meal. We had the shrimp bisque to start which we both enjoyed as well, but a smaller portion would have been better in our opinion. It didn't leave much room for our main meal. We asked our first waiter for menu suggestions and the grouper with boursin cheese was highly recommended, so I ordered it. It unfortunetely was not my favorite. There was much to much cheese in my opinion. My husband had the scallops which I thought were much better prepared. The side dishes were an interesting idea but we really didn't eat that much of them. All in all, I would try Yemanja again, but I would opt for a grilled menu option rather than the grouper with cheese.

We've been living on Aruba for about 2 years now. Although we've tried a lot of restaurants, we'd never been to Yemanja.
I heard from friends that during May locals received a discount (USD = AWG).
So I made a reservation for 4 at 20.30 hours. The employee who took my reservation told me to bring my local ID so I could receive the discount.
However, when we arrived at the restaurant we soon found out that the discount was only valid if the reservation was made between 17.30 - 19.30. We told the waitress about the situation and that we were told about the discount on the phone, but nothing about arriving at a certain time.
She explained the situation to the manager but there was nothing they could do. We should've paid more attention to the information on the flyer....I didn't see any flyer!
Although the food was great, this kind of service is pathetic, I will never come to this restaurant again!

We just returned from Yemanja, another great dinner!

From appetizers to dessert, everything was nicely presented and the tastes were varied and fitted the dishes just right.

Grilled shrimp, strip steak and vegetable tempura were enjoyed and the chicken was "the best ever" - spicy, but not overly hot, but very flavorful.

Dessert (Chocolate Brownies) and coffees (including Brazilian Pilao) finished off a great meal.

Also, our server, Juan Carlos was very helpful, but did not intrude, allowing us to enjoy a liesurely dinner at our own pace, well done.

We have been going to Aruba for 19 years and decided to try Yemanja Woodfired Grill as a new place to eat this year. What a treat! The menu was delightful and the specials made deciding very difficult. The while asparagus was in season and many items highlighted this special vegetable flown in from Holland. After deciding on the Wahoo and Tuna were were not unhappy. The side dishes went well with our choices and we know we will be back next year. This is a place you should put on your places to dine when Aruba. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent food and great service (thanks Roland). Downtown location is nothing special, but they have overcome that with unique and inviting interior/outdoor dining areas and it is fairly convenient. White asparagus was very unusual and good.

Yemanja Woodfired Grill has become an annual stop for us. This year we were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent. For our entrees we tried the Grouper with boursin cheese and the Wahoo special. As usual the food was outstanding and the presentation made me wish I had a camera! We always love the bananna tart tatin for dessert. Always a great choice.

We've been coming here every year since they opened and nothing has changed. It's still one of our favorite places to eat. The beef carpaccio bombe for an appetizer is exactly that..."the bomb".
I had the rib eye and my wife had the strip loin. Both were excellent and the four sides consisting of garlic mashed potatoes, black beans, rice, and veggies round out the meal as well as my belly! Cant wait to come back next year.
