Yemanja Woodfired Grill

We were in Aruba during the second week of March, 2011. we decided to try the top ten restaurants according to this web site. Not a bad decision, The food was very tasty , environment was good,, all and all we liked the place and we would go there again.

This is a fantastic restaurant. We ate there twice during our short Aruba vacation and both times were outstanding. Our waitress went way beyond great service. I highly recommend it.

YEMAJA remains a very good restaurant and we are happy to see that consistency. Over the years that we have visited this place, we have noted their service to include bowls of vegetables, rice, black beans, and mashed potatoes. Originally, we found that to be unique and cute, but, of late, we find it to be a bit tactless - why can't each diner have their own serving of side dishes and why must each diner be forced to accept these particular four items when they may wish to have other (which you are not going to order if these are place in front of you). The community nature of the presentation no longer holds a uniqueness about it a speks more to a laziness or a lack of alternatives that is all too present in so many ARUBAN meal presentations. We would encourage YEMANJA to address this slight oversight and move forward as contender that we believe it can be.
Maybe we are being a bit picky, but the same four bowls were presented when we ate alone or when we ate with others so there is no portion control considersation as well and that is a bit annoying and awkward to address. We continue to like the food and would encourage all to visit.

We dined at the bar with Jose and Jose serving and entertaining us, while watching Joyce (an owner) cook dinner through a window to the kitchen.

This place is magical.

Truly a great restaurant, we went twice on our latest trip and left happy both times. The smoky smell that fills the place is to die for and the food is even better. This is the new Number 1 for Aruba (we have been going for the last 10 years and have tried everything on the island many times)

One of our favorites for several years - this year was no exception. They accommodated 13 of us at one table - service was outstanding and everyone loved their food which included beef, shrimp, grouper, duck, escargot, a goat cheese appetizer and numerous desserts. Amuse and Yemanja followed closely by Windows on Aruba were our favorite restaurants in Aruba!

Our third year in a row! Always great. It is so wonderful sitting on the outside patio. The potato soup is the best we have ever tasted - my son and I get it every year. Steak is perfectly done and the Grouper Italiano is fantastic with a delicious cheese sauce. Highly recommended.

Visited Aruba for the first time a few weeks ago. Our first dinner on the island was at Yemanja. This place was fantastic! Casual welcoming atmosphere. We had a table inside and I enjoyed the stained-glass windows with "fish" designs. The food was excellent and service warm and friendly. I am still having dreams about the tuna tartar appetizer. Very generous portion beautifully presented. My children, 8 and 11, really liked it too. I really appreciated the fact that they didn't "dumb down" the children's menu. My 11 year-old had grouper, again beautifully presented. We also thoroughly enjoyed the special appetizer of mussels in white wine. Delicious! The seafood trio for main course was also excellent. I have nothing but positive comments. Loved it all. Best meal I had on the island all week. Yum!

My wife and I enjoyed a pleasant dinner experience at Yemanja. Our server and our food were both delighful. My wife's tuna steak was delicious and my grouper filet was special. We highly recommend this restaurant and we will difinitely return.

My husband and I have been coming to Aruba for 16 years and are always looking to try new restaurants. I have to say, that this restaurant is one of the best restaurants on the island. We were in Aruba for three weeks in January and entertained different groups of people during this time. After eating at Jamanja one time during the first week we knew our guests for the other weeks would enjoy it, as well. We ate here 3 times and love, love, loved it. The food was out of this world. Although, not on the beach, with no sunsets to watch, this restaurant has become one of our favorites in which we will return to next January.
